The active ingredient of the drug is fluoroquinolone, enrofloxacin, well studied in medical and veterinary practice. It has antimicrobial action against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including E. coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, strepto- and staphylococci, Klebsiella, C. haemophilus bacillus, Bordetella and Brucella, Proteus, Clostridium and Mycoplasma, Listeria and Corynebacterium, as well as causative agents of Campylobacteriosis and actinobacillus infection. The mechanism of action of enrofloxacin is due to inhibition of activity of gyrase enzyme involved in the process of DNA helix replication in the nucleus of the bacterial cell. When swallowed, the drug is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body. Maximum concentration of enrofloxacin in blood plasma is reached 1.5 – 2 hours after intake and remains at therapeutic level for up to 24 hours. The drug is eliminated mainly unchanged in the urine and bile. According to the degree of effect on the body of warm-blooded animals, the drug refers to low-hazardous substances and does not have local irritation and sensitizing effect in the recommended doses.

Indications

Administration in dogs and cats with therapeutic and prophylactic purpose alone and in complex therapy in acute and chronic cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary failure, acute pyo-inflammatory processes in abdominal cavity (acute necrotizing pancreatitis, peritonitis), for the prevention of anesthesia and postnarcosis complications, in post-traumatic and postoperative periods, with exogenous organic brain disease (as a result of past neuroinfections), acute stroke, epilepsy, episyndrome, craniocerebral trauma, in skin pathologies (dermatitis, eczema, trophic ulcers and wounds), for prevention of complications during wound healing, for improvement of hair condition, in periods of extreme stress, for increase of resistance during stress, In veterinary geriatrics at age-related disorders of body functions (sluggish chronic diseases, neurodermatitis, dermatitis associated with disorders of peripheral circulation).

Composition

One tablet contains 150 mg of enrofloxacin and auxiliary ingredients: mannitol, corn starch, sodium starch glycolate, methacrylic acid copolymer, sodium lauryl sulfate, debutylsebacinate, sodium croscarmellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, magnesium stearate and meat flavoring and aroma 10022

How to take, the dosage

The drug is administered to animals individually 1 or 2 times a day in the morning and in the evening with food at the rate of 1 tablet per 30 kg of animal weight per day. In the process of giving the drug no additional efforts are required, as animals eat Enroxil tablets with meat taste by themselves. The duration of treatment is 5 to 10 days.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components. It is not recommended to prescribe the drug to puppies under 1.5 years of age, as well as animals with lesions of the nervous system. Do not use Enroxil tablets with meat taste simultaneously with theophylline, chloramphenicol, macrolides, tetracyclines and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Side effects

In sensitive animals in rare cases, there may be individual signs of intolerance to the components of the drug.
