Use of the drug during pregnancy and
The period of breastfeeding is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor if
the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and
child.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
a history of allergies to local anesthetics;
history or tendency to methemoglobinemia;
asthma or bronchospasm;
children’s age up to 12 years.
With caution
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, trauma to the oral mucosa.
Side Effects
The following adverse reactions were observed with short-term use of the drug
in recommended doses. When treating chronic conditions and with long-term use, other adverse reactions may occur.
The incidence of adverse reactions was assessed based on the following criteria: very often (≥ 1/10), often (from ≥ 1/100 to < 1/10), infrequently (from ≥ 1/1000 to < 1/100), rarely (from ≥ 1/10,000 to < 1/1000), very rarely (< 1/10,000), frequency unknown (data for frequency estimates are not enough).Immune system disordersNot known: hypersensitivity reactions (including angioedema, urticaria, hypotension with syncope).Gastrointestinal disordersFrequency unknown: nausea, burning or tingling sensation, swelling in the mouth.Disorders of the skin and subcutaneous tissuesFrequency unknown: rash.If the above or other adverse reactions not listed in the instructions occur, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
Interaction
The effect of lidocaine applied locally may be enhanced when the drug is used simultaneously with erythromycin, itraconazole, cimetidine, fluvoxamine, beta-blockers, and other antiarrhythmic drugs, for example, mexiletine.
Overdose
Although unlikely, overdose may result in anesthesia of the upper gastrointestinal tract.
It should be kept in mind that intoxication with high doses of lidocaine can lead to hypotension, asystole, bradycardia, apnea (respiratory arrest), seizures, coma, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest and death.
Treatment: symptomatic under medical supervision.
