Papaverine 20 mg/ml 2 ml, 10 pcs.

Papaverine is a myotropic antispasmodic (relieves smooth muscle spasms) drug.

Limits the tone and reduces the contractile activity of smooth muscles and therefore has a vasodilator and antispasmodic (relieves spasms) effect.

In high doses, it reduces excitability of the heart muscle and slows intracardiac conduction.

Composition

Active ingredient: 20 mg papaverine hydrochloride

How to take, the dosage

Subcutaneously, intramuscularly – 1-2 ml of 2% solution (20-40 mg) 2-4 times a day; intravenously, slowly 20 mg with prior dilution in 10-20 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution.

In elderly patients the initial single dose is not more than 10 mg.

Interaction

Decreases the effect of dopetite.

The effectiveness decreases with smoking.

Special Instructions

With caution and in low doses should be used in elderly and frail patients, as well as in patients with craniocerebral trauma, hepatic and renal dysfunction, hypothyroidism, insufficient adrenal function, prostatic hypertrophy, supraventricular tachycardia and state of shock.

The IV should be administered slowly and under a physician’s supervision.

Alcohol should be avoided during treatment.
