Special Instructions

The recommended doses should not be exceeded, especially in children and the elderly. Prolonged (more than 10 days) or excessive use of the drug may cause “ricochet” effect (rhinitis medica) and/or atrophy of the nasal mucosa. Patients with prolonged QT interval syndrome using xylometazoline may be at increased risk of developing severe ventricular arrhythmias. Benzalkonium chloride contained in the drug may cause irritation of the nasal mucosa. The drug contains menthol and eucalyptol, which have a cooling effect on the nasal mucosa, giving a feeling of freshness.
Effect on the ability to drive vehicles, machinery
The drug does not affect the ability to operate vehicles or equipment. In case of long-term use in excess of the recommended doses, the possibility of its systemic action cannot be excluded. In such cases, caution should be exercised when driving vehicles or operating equipment.

Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or any of the excipients of the drug; Arterial hypertension; Tachycardia; Severe atherosclerosis; Glaucoma; Hyperthyroidism; Atrophic rhinitis; Inflammatory skin diseases or mucosa of the vestibule; Cranial surgery (in anamnesis); Status after transsphenoidal hypophysectomy; Pregnancy; Use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (including 14 days after their withdrawal); Use of tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants; Children under 12 years old:
Diabetes mellitus; Severe cardiovascular disease (including coronary heart disease, angina pectoris); Prostate hyperplasia; Pheochromocytoma; Porphyria; Breastfeeding period; Hypersensitivity to adrenergic drugs, accompanied by insomnia, dizziness, arrhythmias, tremors, increased blood pressure; Patients with prolonged QT interval syndrome.
