Ichthiol is an anti-inflammatory, has local analgesic, antiseptic, keratoplastic effect.

In case of direct action on the mucosa it causes slight irritation of sensitive nerve endings, followed by decrease of their sensitivity. Causes denaturation of protein molecules.

Favors the area of mucosal inflammation: it regulates vascular tone and restores peripheral blood circulation.

Indications

In gynecology: endometritis; salpingo-oophoritis.
In urology: chronic nonspecific prostatitis.

How to take, the dosage

Rectally, 1-2 suppositories a day, after a purging enema or spontaneous bowel emptying.
