Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics
Combined anti-hemorrhoid drug. Tribenoside reduces capillary permeability and improves vascular tone; it has antagonistic effect on some endogenous substances mediating inflammation and pain.

Lidocaine has a local anesthetic effect. The drug causes rapid relief of symptoms caused by hemorrhoids (pain, itching and skin tension).

Pharmacokinetics
When applied topically, 2 to 20% of the tribenoside contained in the cream is absorbed. In the body, tribenoside is largely metabolized in the liver.

Composition

100 g of the cream contain:

Tribenoside 5.00 g,

Lidocaine hydrochloride 2.12 g.

cetomacrogol 1000 4.44 g,

cetyl alcohol 5 g,

How to take, the dosage

Rectally.

In severe clinical symptoms, the cream should be used in the morning and evening. When acute symptoms regress, the frequency of use is reduced to once a day. With internal hemorrhoids cream is administered with the nozzle. 30 g of cream (1 tube) is enough for about 20-30 applications.

Interaction

There are no reported cases of interaction.

When using Procto-Glivenol® cream, it is necessary to monitor the hygiene of the anal area, avoid excessive straining, take all measures to maintain soft stool consistency.

Overdose

In case of accidental ingestion gastrointestinal tract lavage is recommended, as well as symptomatic supportive therapy.

Pregnancy use

With caution in pregnancy, especially in the first trimester.

Breastfeeding can be used without stopping breastfeeding if the expected effect of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the baby.
