Immunomodulatory drug with anti-inflammatory action.

The mechanism of action is associated with the ability to influence the functional and metabolic activity of macrophages.

In inflammatory diseases it reversibly (for 6-8 hours) inhibits excessive synthesis of tumor necrosis factor, interleukin-1 and other pro-inflammatory cytokines, reactive oxygen species by hyperactivated macrophages which determine the degree of inflammatory reactions, their cycling and also the severity of intoxication.

The normalization of the functional state of macrophages leads to restoration of antigen-presenting and regulatory function of macrophages, reduction of autoaggression.

The preparation stimulates bactericidal activity of neutrophil granulocytes strengthening phagocytosis and increasing nonspecific resistance of the body to infectious diseases.

The main pharmacological effects are observed within 72 hours.

How to take, the dosage

The dosing regimen and duration of therapy are set individually, depending on the nature, severity and duration of the disease.

The drug is taken sublingually 1 tablet up to 4 times a day or 2 tablets up to 2 times a day, depending on the diagnosis and severity of the disease.

In acute infectious intestinal diseases accompanied with diarrhea, the initial dose is 2 tablets once and then 1 tablet 3 to 4 times per day until relief of symptoms. 3 to 4 times a day until relief of intoxication symptoms within 3 to 5 days.

In case of gastric and duodenal ulcer in the acute period the first 2 days should be taken 1 tablet. 4 times / day, then – every 3 days 1 tablet. 4 times / day, a course of 2-3 weeks. In the chronic period to take for 5 days to 1 tablet. 4 times / day, then – every 3 days and 1 tablet. 4 times a day for a course of up to 3 weeks.

In viral hepatitis of various etiologies in acute period of disease the initial dose is 2 tablets 2 times per day until relief of symptoms. 2 times per day until relief of symptoms of intoxication and inflammation. It is possible to continue the course by 1 tablet. Every 3 days and every 3 days a course of up to 2-3 weeks.

In chronic relapsing diseases caused by the herpes virus – 1 tablet. 4 times / day for 10 days. Then – 1 tablet. 4 times per day for 10 days.

In diseases caused by the human papilloma virus it should be taken for 5 days with 1 tablet. 4 times a day, then 1 tablet. Every other day for up to 2 to 3 weeks.

In urogenital diseases (urethritis of chlamydial and trichomonadic aetiology, chlamydial prostatitis) on the first day 2 tablets. 2 times / day, then – 1 tablet. Every other day and 4 times a day for a course of up to 2 weeks (depending on the severity of the pathological process).

In salpingoophoritis, endometritis in the acute period – 2 tablets. 2 times / day for 2 days, then – 1 tablet. 4 times / day every 3 days for 3 weeks. In the chronic period – for 5 days 1 tablet 4 times per day. 4 times / day, then – 1 tablet. Every 3 days and every 3 days for the period of 3 to 3 weeks.

In acute and chronic purulent diseases of the pelvic organs in the acute period on the first day 2 tablets 2 times / day and then – 3 tablets 3 times / day. 2 times / day, then – 3 days 1 tablet. 4 times / day, then – 1 tablet. 4 times per day every other day for 10 days. In the chronic period: 1 tablet 4 times daily for 5 days and then 1 tablet 4 times daily for 10 days. 4 times a day for 5 days and then 3 to 4 tablets 3 times a day every 3 days for up to 3 weeks.

For postoperative rehabilitation of patients with uterine myoma and with complications of the postoperative period women of reproductive age should be taken for 5 days, 1 tablet. The drug should be taken for 5 days and 4 times per day, then 1 tablet. In women of childbearing age it should be taken for 5 days and 4 times a day and then 1 tablet every other day for a course of up to 2 weeks.

In purulent surgical diseases (burn injuries, chronic osteomyelitis, gangrenous appendicitis with omentitis, peritonitis, purulent pleurisy) it should be used 4 times a day for 5 days and then 1 tablet. 4 times a day for up to 15 days.

For prevention and treatment of surgical complications during pre- and postoperative period (including cancer patients) it is prescribed by 1 tablet. 4 times per day for 5 days before surgery, within 10 days after surgery – 1 tablet. 4 times a day and during 3 weeks 1 tablet. 4 times every 3 days. If the course of the disease is severe – on the first day 2 tablets. 2 times a day.

In chronic recurrent furunculosis, rust inflammation take 5 days with 1 tablet. 4 times a day, then 1 tablet. 4 times a day and the course of treatment should be up to 3 weeks.

Asthenic conditions, neurotic and somatoform disorders, mental, behavioral and postabstinence disorders in patients with alcohol and drug dependence – 5 days 1 tablet 4 times / day, then – 1 tablet 4 times / day for a course of 3 weeks. 4 times per day, then 1 tablet. 4 times every 3 days for 3 weeks.

For increasing physical performance – 1 tablet. 4 times a day for 10 days, then 1 tablet. 4 times a day every 3 days for up to 3 weeks.

In inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat, periodontal disease, the initial dose of 1 tablet. 4 times / day for 5 days, then 1 tablet. 4 times / day every 3 days for a course of up to 3 weeks.

In case of frequent recurrent respiratory tract and ENT-organ diseases of bacterial and viral etiology (frequent acute respiratory viral infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, chronic tonsillitis, chronic otitis, chronic adenoiditis) use 4 times / day 1 tablet for 5 days, then – 1 tablet. Four times a day for up to 15 days.

For the prevention of acute respiratory infections and flu – 1 tablet. 2 times a day. The course of 5-10 days.

Interaction

No clinically significant interaction of Galavit® with other medicinal products has been established.

Contraindications

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose of Galavit® have been reported.
