Butadion, tablets 150 mg 10 pcs

The NPSA is from the group of pyrazolone derivatives. Butadion has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects due to inhibition of COX activity and reduction of prostaglandin synthesis.

Indications

Inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system: Rheumatoid, gout, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (Bechterew’s disease), osteoarthritis, arthritis in SLE (as part of complex therapy).
Pain syndrome: bursitis, tendovaginitis, arthralgia, myalgia, neuralgia, dental and headache (including migraine) pain, algodysmenorrhea, pain from injuries and burns.
Fever syndrome in “colds” and infectious diseases.
It is intended for symptomatic therapy, reduction of pain and inflammation at the time of use, does not affect the progression of the disease.

Active ingredient

Composition

1 tablet contains:
Active ingredient: phenylbutazone – 150 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Orally, 0.2-0.4 g during or after meals 3-4 times a day.
Children at the age of 6 months – 0.01-0.1 g (depending on age) 3-4 times a day. Duration of therapy is 2-5 weeks and more.

Interaction

Increases the effect of indirect anticoagulants, antiaggregants, fibrinolytics, side effects of GCS and MKS, estrogen, morphine, PASK, penicillin, hypoglycemic effect of sulfonylurea derivatives.
Reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric and hypotensive drugs and diuretics.
Increases the blood concentration of Li+, methotrexate.
Inducers of microsomal oxidation in the liver (phenytoin, ethanol, barbiturates, rifampicin, tricyclic antidepressants) increase production of hydroxylated active metabolites.
Antacids and colestyramine decrease absorption.
Myelotoxic drugs increase hematotoxicity of the drug.

Special Instructions

During the treatment it is necessary to monitor the peripheral blood picture and functional state of the liver and kidneys.
If it is necessary to determine 17-ketosteroids the drug should be discontinued 48 hours before the study.
During the treatment the patient should refrain from potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and rapid mental and motor reactions. To reduce the risk of gastrointestinal adverse events, the minimum effective dose should be used for the shortest possible course.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; complete or incomplete combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent nasal and paranasal sinus polyposis and intolerance to ASA or other NSAIDs. NSAIDs (incl.

Side effects

In the digestive system: dyspepsia, NSAID gastropathy, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhea or constipation; with long-term use in high doses – ulceration of mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, aphthous stomatitis, glossitis, erosive esophagitis, bleeding (gastrointestinal, gingival, hemorrhoidal), liver function failure.
Cardiovascular system: increase in BP, tachycardia.
Nervous system: headache, dizziness, somnolence, depression, agitation.
Senses: decreased hearing, tinnitus.
Blood: agranulocytosis, leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria, bronchospasm, edema syndrome, angioedema.
Other: increased sweating, uterine bleeding.

Overdose

Symptoms: cyanosis of fingertips, lips, body skin, dizziness, headache, high or low blood pressure, hyperventilation of the lungs, blurred consciousness, in children – myoclonic convulsions, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, hemorrhages, liver and kidney malfunction.
Treatment: gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy to maintain vital body functions. Forced diuresis and hemodialysis are ineffective.
