Frontline NexgarD refers to insectoacaricidal drugs of systemic action.
Aphoxolaner contained in the drug is an insectoacaricide of isoxazoline group. Mechanism of action of Afoxolaner consists in blockade of GABA-dependent receptors of arthropods, hyperexcitation of neurons, disruption of nerve impulses transmission, which leads to paralysis and death of parasites.
Frontline NexgarD is active against fleas Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides canis as well as against Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes holocyclus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Amblyomma americanum.
After oral administration of the drug Afoxolaner is easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and reaches the systemic bloodstream, the maximum concentration in plasma is observed 2-4 hours after administration, bioavailability is 74%. Afoxolaner is slowly metabolized to form hydroxylated compounds, it is eliminated from the body mainly with the bile and slightly with the urine. Half-life period of afoxolaner makes 14 days.
Action of the preparation on fleas begins 30 minutes after administration; single use of the preparation ensures flea and tick elimination on the animal within 6 and 48 hours respectively; it prevents re-infestation for four weeks. Fleas are killed before egg-laying, which prevents contamination of the premises with eggs and larvae.
According to the degree of exposure on the body Frontline NexgarD refers to low-hazardous substances (4th class of hazard according to GOST 12.1.007-76). In the recommended doses it has no teratogenic, embryotoxic and mutagenic properties and has no local irritating effect.

Indications

For the treatment and prevention:

– Babesiosis (pyroplasmosis) and borreliosis transmitted by ixodid mites
– Intradermal mites (demodecosis, sarcoptosis)
– Ear mites (otodectosis)
– Flea infestation (aphanipterosis)
– In the complex treatment of flea allergic dermatitis.

Composition

Frontline NexgarD as an active ingredient contains 2.27% foxolaner (11.3 mg; 28.3 mg; 68 mg or 136 mg per tablet, corresponding to a tablet weight of 0.5; 1.25; 3.0 or 6.0 g), as well as excipients: corn starch, soy protein meal, braised beef flavor and aroma additive, KZO povidone, macroGol 400, macroGol 4000, macroGol 15 hydroxystearate, glycerol, medium chain triglyceride, potassium sorbate.

How to take, the dosage

– Monthly during the season of highest ectoparasite activity

– With food or by hand as a treat

For dogs weighing over 50 kg it is recommended
a combination of 2 tablets, in total suitable by weight.

Example: For a dog weighing 65 kg = tablet 25 – 50 kg + tablet 10 – 25 kg.

Contraindications

Contraindications for use is an animal’s individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, marked liver and kidney function abnormalities. The drug should not be used in sick infectious diseases and weakened animals, puppies under the age of 8 weeks and / or weighing less than 2 kg, as well as animals of other species. Pregnant and lactating bitches, if necessary, Frontline NexgarD should be used under medical supervision.
