Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic of fluoroquinolone group, active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Echerichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp, Proteus spp., Yersinia spp., Haemophilus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Campylobacter jejuni, Brucella spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacterium spp., Corynebacterium diphtheriase, Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp.
Amber acid is a natural antioxidant.
Indications
Treatment of dogs and cats in infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, urogenital system, joints, soft tissues and skin, umbilical infections, atrophic rhinitis, bronchopneumonia, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis, other primary and secondary infections of bacterial etiology, whose pathogens are sensitive to ciprofloxacin.

In cattle, sheep, goats, pigs in infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, urogenital system, joints, soft tissues and skin, necrobacillosis, umbilical infections, atrophic rhinitis, bronchopneumonia, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis, mastitis metatagalactia syndrome (MMA) and other infections with causative agents sensitive to ciprofloxacin.
Composition
It contains as an active ingredient ciprofloxacin – 50 mg/ml, and succinic acid – 10 mg/ml, as an auxiliary substance.
How to take, the dosage
“Ciprovet 5% for injection” is administered in cattle, cattle subcutaneously or intramuscularly, in pigs – intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (5 mg of ciprofloxacin per 1 kg of animal weight), once a day for 3-5 days, in pigs with MMA syndrome for 2 days.
The maximum volume of “Ciprovet 5% for injection” for administration in one place shall not exceed 15 ml in cattle, 10 ml in pigs, 5 ml in sheep and calves, 2.5 ml in piglets, 2 ml in dogs and 1 ml in cats.
Special Instructions
Slaughter for meat of cattle and small ruminants is allowed not earlier than 28 days, pigs – not earlier than 14 days after the last drug administration.
Contraindications
Dairy animals, pregnant and lactating females, animals with kidney and liver diseases and cartilage development disorders, with lesions of the nervous system, as well as puppies and kittens until the end of the growth period. In case of animal hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones.
Do not use simultaneously with bacteriostatic antibiotics (levomycetin, macrolides and tetracyclines), theophylline and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Side effects
If an animal is hypersensitive to fluoroquinolones it is possible that it may refuse to eat, vomiting, edema, impaired coordination of movements. If side effects occur, use of the drug shall be discontinued and desensitization therapy shall be carried out.
