Combined preparation of herbal origin.

The active components of chamomile, marshmallow and horsetail help to increase the activity of nonspecific defense factors by increasing the phagocytic activity of macrophages and granulocytes.

Polysaccharides, essential oils and flavonoids of chamomile, marshmallow and yarrow have anti-inflammatory effects and reduce mucosal edema of the respiratory tract. Tannins of oak bark have antiviral activity.

Pharmacokinetics

The action of Tonsilgon N is the combined effect of its components; therefore, kinetic studies are not possible; all components together cannot be traced by markers or bioassays.

Indications

Acute and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis).

Prophylaxis of complications of respiratory viral infections and as an adjunct to antibiotic therapy for bacterial infections.

29 g of aqueous-alcoholic extract from a mixture of medicinal herbal raw materials:

Althea roots 0.4 g,

Chamomile flowers 0.3 g,

Horsetail herb 0.5 g,

Walnut leaves 0,4 g ,

Yarrow herb 0,4 g,

Oak bark 0,2 g,

Dandelion herb 0,4 g.

Auxiliary substances:

Purified water 71 g.

How to take, the dosage

In acute period of the disease 25 drops 5-6 times per day for adults, 15 drops 5-6 times per day for school-age children (older than 6 years), 10 drops 5-6 times per day for preschool-age children (older than 1 year).

After the disappearance of acute symptoms of the disease (sore throat) the drug should be continued for another 1 week. After disappearance of acute symptoms 25 drops 3 times/day for adults, 15 drops 3 times/day for children of school age (older than 6 years), 10 drops 3 times/day for preschool children (older than 1 year).

Special Instructions

Combination of Tonsilgon N with antibacterial agents is possible and reasonable.

When storing the solution may become cloudy and a slight precipitate may appear, but this does not affect the effectiveness of the drug. The drug should be shaken before use.

The oral drops contain 16.0-19.5 vol.% ethanol, so this dosage form is not recommended after successful treatment of chronic alcoholism. In patients with liver disease, the use of Oral Drops is decided by a physician on an individual basis.

Impact on driving and operating machinery

The drug does not impair the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Contraindications

With caution: liver disease, craniocerebral trauma, brain disease, children over 1 year of age (use is possible only after consultation with a doctor) – due to the content of ethyl alcohol in the drug.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible.

In case of signs of allergic reactions the drug should be stopped.

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.

Symptoms: in case of overdose there may be increased gastrointestinal side effects.
