Timogen is an immunostimulant, dipeptide.

It has immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, antioxidant, reparative effects. It interacts with T-lymphocytes, Langerhans cells (macrophages) and skin mast cells, normalizing their functional activity and intercellular interaction.

It helps to decrease antigen/IgE-mediated production of inflammatory mediators of the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines and biogenic amines (histamine and serotonin) in skin cells. Causes reduction of skin manifestations of allergic reactions in hypersensitivity to various allergens. Suppresses the inflammatory response in response to skin irritants in contact dermatitis. It reduces skin inflammation and itching in allergic dermatitis in the acute phase of the disease.

Inhibits free radical oxidation processes in pathologically changed skin cells, preventing their damage and death, stimulating the production of antioxidant protective factors of cells.

Stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes, fibroblasts and endothelial cells, facilitating the regeneration of damaged skin. It accelerates wound healing and stimulates cellular and humoral (tissue) defense factors.

The systemic effects are negligible due to limited absorption through the skin

How to take, the dosage

The solution is administered intramuscularly once a day to adults in the amount of 100 micrograms (300 – 1000 micrograms per course).
To children under 1 year – 10 micrograms, from 1 to 3 years – 10-20 micrograms, from 4 to 6 years – 20-30 micrograms, from 7 to 14 years – 50 micrograms.
Duration of therapy 3-10 days depending on severity of immunity disorders. The repeated course of treatment may be carried out after 1-6 months.

Interaction

It increases the effectiveness of other types of therapy (cytostatics, radiation therapy, etc.); it is not recommended to use simultaneously with high doses of glucocorticosteroid drugs.

Special Instructions

The results of clinical studies show that the drug Timogen in dosage form of cream meets the requirements for external therapy in the treatment of chronic dermatoses (atopic dermatitis, strophulus, microbial eczema and pyoderma) in children.

The drug reduces inflammation in the focus of infection reducing swelling and hyperemia of the skin, reduces itching, promotes fast restoration of the skin integrity and eliminates its dryness, thus improving the skin barrier function.

In addition, through its immunocorrective action, Timogen increases the skin’s protective function.
