Timogen is an immunostimulant, dipeptide.

It has immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, antioxidant, reparative effects. It interacts with T-lymphocytes, Langerhans cells (macrophages) and skin mast cells, normalizing their functional activity and intercellular interaction.

It helps to decrease antigen/IgE-mediated production of inflammatory mediators of the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines and biogenic amines (histamine and serotonin) in skin cells. Causes reduction of skin manifestations of allergic reactions in hypersensitivity to various allergens. Suppresses the inflammatory response in response to skin irritants in contact dermatitis. It reduces skin inflammation and itching in allergic dermatitis in the acute phase of the disease.

Inhibits free radical oxidation processes in pathologically changed skin cells, preventing their damage and death, stimulating the production of antioxidant protective factors of cells.

Stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes, fibroblasts and endothelial cells, facilitating the regeneration of damaged skin. It accelerates wound healing and stimulates cellular and humoral (tissue) defense factors.

The systemic effects are negligible due to limited absorption through the skin

• Comprehensive therapy of acute and chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases, accompanied by a decrease in cellular immunity.
• Prophylaxis of infectious complications, immunity suppression, hematopoiesis, regeneration processes in post-traumatic and post-operative period, during radiation therapy or chemotherapy, while using massive doses of antibiotics.
• Prophylaxis and comprehensive therapy of viral and bacterial infections, acute and chronic respiratory diseases.

How to take, the dosage

The solution is administered intramuscularly once a day to adults in the amount of 100 micrograms (300 – 1000 micrograms per course);

In children under 1 year old – 10 micrograms, from 1 to 3 years old – 10-20 micrograms, from 4 to 6 years old – 20-30 micrograms, from 7 to 14 years old – 50 micrograms.

The course of treatment lasts 3-10 days, depending on the severity of immune disorders.

The next course of treatment can be repeated in 1-6 months.

Interaction

Increases the effectiveness of other types of therapy (cytostatics, radiation therapy, etc.);

It is not recommended to use simultaneously with high doses of glucocorticosteroid drugs.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the drug, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
