Strepsils Plus, spray, 20 ml

Antiseptic combination drug with local anesthetic action for local use in ENT practice and dentistry. It has antimicrobial action.

Active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms in vitro; has antifungal action.

Pharmacokinetics

There are no data on the pharmacokinetics of Strepsils Plus due to low systemic absorption.

Indications

Treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat (sore throat, sore throat).

Composition

Supplementary substances: 96% ethanol, citric acid, sodium hydroxide, saccharin, glycerol, 70% sorbitol, levomenthol, peppermint oil, anise oil, carmasine edicol, purified water, hydrochloric acid.

How to take, the dosage

Adults and children over 12 years of age are prescribed 1 tablet to be taken every 2 hours. Maximum daily dose is 8 tablets.

The tablets should be swallowed in the mouth until completely dissolved.

The drug in spray form is indicated for adults and children over 12 years old by 1 dose (2 pressings on the sprayer) to irrigate the inflamed area; if necessary, the procedure is repeated every 3 hours, but not more than 6 doses per day. The duration of use is not more than 5 days.

Interaction

There are no clinically significant interactions of Strepsils Plus with drugs of other groups.

Special Instructions

When tongue anesthesia occurs after using the spray, care should be taken with hot food and water.

Contraindications

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible; when using the drug in spray form – loss of sensitivity of the tongue, in some cases – the development of systemic side effects of lidocaine.

Overdose

It is unlikely that a possible overdose could lead to severe anesthesia of the upper digestive tract.

Treatment: symptomatic therapy.

Pregnancy use

The use of Strepsils Plus during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is possible under indications and only under medical supervision.

Prevent use in children

Prevent use in children under 12 years of age.
