In the action of intestinal microorganisms it is hydrolyzed to form the active form, which causes irritation of the intestinal mucosal receptors and intensification of its peristalsis.

Indications

Laxalen may be used in the following cases:

constipation due to atony and hypotonia of the colon

(i.e. decreased activity of peristalsis of the large intestine, including in the elderly, in bed-ridden patients, after operations, after childbirth, during breastfeeding);

constipation caused by taking medications;

to regulate stool in hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures (to soften the stool consistency);

Gall bladder diseases, irritable bowel syndrome with predominant constipation;

constipation due to dysbacteriosis of the intestine, violation of diet.

Composition

1 tablet contains sodium picosulfate 5 mg

Excipients:

potato starch 27.64 mg,

lactose monohydrate 58.45 mg,

How to take, the dosage

For adults and children over 10 years of age

The initial dosage is 1 tablet per day.

The maximum daily dose is 2 tablets.

Or

The starting dose is 10 drops per day.

The maximum daily dose is 20 drops.

Children should only take sodium picosulfate as prescribed by their doctor.

Children 4-10 years old

5-10 drops per day.

The maximum daily dose is 10 drops.

Children 0-4 years old

1 drop (0.5 mg of sodium picosulfate) per 2 kg of body weight per day.

To get a laxative effect in the morning hours, the drug should be taken the night before.

In order to achieve regular stools, the dose may be increased to the maximum recommended dose. The maximum recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.

Interaction

When concomitant use with broad-spectrum antibiotics the laxative effect of sodium picosulfate may be reduced.

Concomitant use with diuretics, with GCS may increase the risk of electrolyte disturbances.

The electrolyte imbalance occurring against the background of taking sodium picosulfate in high doses may lead to impaired tolerability of cardiac glycosides when used concomitantly.

Special Instructions

It does not taste good, so children can be added to food. Do not use daily without medical supervision for more than 10 days.

Application in children

It is contraindicated in children under 4 years of age.
