Pharmacological properties

Shark liver oil has local anti-inflammatory, hemostatic and wound-healing effect.

Phenylephrine hydrochloride is an a-adrenomimetic, has a local vasoconstrictor effect, which helps to reduce exudation, tissue swelling, itching in hemorrhoids.

Indications

External and internal hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal itching.

Phenylephrine hydrochloride is an α-adrenomimetic, has a local vasoconstrictor effect, which helps reduce exudation, tissue swelling, and itching in hemorrhoids.

Special instructions

It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age, during pregnancy and breastfeeding without consultation with a doctor.

In case of bleeding, worsening of the condition, or no effect within 7 days, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.

Should not be used in combination with antihypertensive drugs and MAO inhibitors.

Active ingredient

Phenylephrine

Composition

1 g – phenylephrine hydrochloride 2.5 mg (0.25%).

Excipients:

mineral oil – 140 mg (14%);

Vaseline – 749 mg (74.9%);

methyl parahydroxybenzoate – 2 mg (0.2%);

propyl parahydroxybenzoate – 1 mg (0.1%);

anhydrous lanolin – 23.5 mg (2.35%);

benzoic acid – 2 mg (0.2%);

corn oil – 2 mg (0.2%);

glycerol – 25 mg (2.5%);

lanolin alcohol – 15 mg (1.5%);

paraffin – 5 mg (0.5%);

purified water – 19 mg (1.9%);

common thyme herb oil – 1 mg (0.1%);

vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol acetate) – 0.5 mg (0.05%);

white beeswax – 12.5 mg (1.25%).

Pregnancy

Pregnant women and nursing mothers use with caution.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, thromboembolic disease, granulocytopenia.

With caution

Arterial hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, urinary retention (prostatic hypertrophy), pregnancy, lactation.

Side Effects

Rarely – allergic reactions.

Interaction

Due to the phenylephrine contained, the effect of antihypertensive drugs is reduced.

When prescribed simultaneously with antidepressants – MAO inhibitors, a hypertensive crisis may develop.
