Proctosedil ointment, ointment 10 g

Proctosedil – antipruritic, local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory.

Blocks pain receptors (cinchocaine), inhibits the formation of PG and other inflammatory mediators (hydrocortisone), active against a number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms (Framicetin).

Pharmacokinetics

The hydrocortisone in the drug is partially absorbed in the rectum. T_1/2 is about 90 minutes.

Indications

Hemorrhoids, itching in the anus area.

How to take, the dosage

A small amount of ointment is applied with your finger to the areas where itching or pain is localized morning and evening and after each defecation.

For deeper insertion into the rectum, put the applicator on the tube of ointment, making sure it is deep enough into the rectum and then gently pressing the tube from the bottom end to gradually remove the applicator.

The ointment can be used alone or in combination with rectal capsules.

Proctosedil is used for a short period of time (not more than 7 days).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Side effects

Local reactions: feeling of discomfort in the rectal area, burning in the rectum, dryness of the rectal mucosa.

Others: accession of secondary infection, allergic reactions.

Possible risk of systemic side effects associated with hydrocortisone (when using Proctosedil rectal capsules in high doses and/or for a long time).
