Picamilon is a nootropic, dilates cerebral blood vessels. It also has tranquilizing, psychostimulant, antiaggregant and antioxidant effects.

Picamilon improves brain function due to normalization of tissue metabolism and influence on cerebral circulation (increases the volumetric and linear velocity of cerebral blood flow, reduces cerebral vascular resistance, inhibits platelet aggregation, improves microcirculation).

When taking Pikamilon during a course of treatment it increases physical and mental performance, reduces headache, improves memory, normalizes sleep; helps to decrease or disappear the feeling of anxiety, tension and fear; improves the condition of patients with movement and speech disorders.

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion, regardless of meals.

In cerebrovascular diseases a single dose is 20-50 mg 2-3 times a day, the daily dose is 60-150 mg. The course of treatment is 1-2 months. The second course is made after 5-6 months.

Late-onset depressive states – 40-200 mg daily in 2-3 doses, optimal interval – 60-120 mg daily, for 1.5-3 months. As antiasthenic and anxiolytic drugs – 40-80 mg per day, if necessary up to 200-300 mg per day, for 1-1.5 months.

In alcoholism during withdrawal, 100-150 mg per day, a short course of 6-7 days; in more persistent disorders outside withdrawal, a daily dose of 40-60 mg for 4-5 weeks.

To relieve acute uncomplicated ethanol intoxication as part of complex therapy, administer a saturation dose of 5 mg/kg and maintenance dose of 1.56 mg/kg/h in 2.5 L of infusion solution, for 4 h, morning and evening.

For recovery of performance and at increased loads – 60-80 mg per day for 1-1.5 months, for athletes in the same dose, for 2 weeks of the training period.

Interaction

Shortens the effect of barbiturates, increases the effect of narcotic analgesics.

Contraindications

Side effects

Nausea, headache, dizziness, irritability, agitation, anxiety, allergic reactions (rash, itching).

Overdose

Symptoms: increased severity of adverse reactions.

Treatment: symptomatic.
