Pharmacodynamics:

Notropic agent dilates cerebral blood vessels. Has a tranquilizing and mild psychostimulant action antiaggregant and antioxidant effect. Improves functional status of the brain due to normalization of tissue metabolism and its effect on cerebral circulation (increases the volumetric and linear velocity of the cerebral blood flow has a vasodilating antiaggregant antioxidant effect improves microcirculation). With a course of treatment increases physical and mental performance reduces headache improves memory normalizes sleep; helps reduce or disappearance of anxiety tension fear of emotional intemperance. Helps restore central motor and speech disorders of vascular or traumatic genesis. Improves blood circulation in the vessels of the retina and optic nerve.

Pharmacokinetics: Absorption is fast and complete in all routes of administration. It penetrates through the blood-brain barrier and is retained in the body tissues for a long time. Bioavailability is 50-88%. It is eliminated mainly by kidneys unchanged. The elimination half-life is 0.51 hours.

Indications

Adults:

– chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency (discirculatory encephalopathy consequences of cerebral circulation disorders) condition after craniocerebral injury vegetative dystonia syndrome in the complex treatment of depressive disorders of various genesis in old age.

– as part of the complex treatment of chronic alcoholism (reduction of asthenic asthenoneurotic post-psychotic pre-recipient states in alcoholic encephalopathy).

– as part of the complex therapy of primary open-angle glaucoma with compensated intraocular pressure (for stabilization of visual function).

– as part of the complex therapy of vegetative dystonia syndrome accompanied by anxiety, fear, increased irritability and asthenia, emotional lability.

– to improve the tolerance of physical and mental stress (for individuals in stressful and extreme conditions of activity, to restore the physical performance of athletes to increase resistance to physical and mental stress).

In children over 3 years of age and adults in urological practice for urinary disorders to improve the adaptive function of the bladder (reduction of detrusor hypoxia).

Composition

Nicotinoyl gamma-aminobutyrate sodium – 100 mg

Additives:

0.1 M hydrochloric acid solution – up to pH 6.7 to 8.0

Water for injection – up to 1 ml

How to take, the dosage

Intravenously by drip or stream (slowly) intramuscularly.

Before drip administration the contents of the ampoule are dissolved in 200 ml of 09% sodium chloride solution.

In chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency: it is administered by 100-200 mg once a day for 10 days intravenously then intramuscularly. The course of treatment is 15-30 days. If condition improves, switch to oral form in a daily dose of 50-150 mg. The course should be repeated in 5-6 months.

In combination therapy in treatment of depression in elderly people: administer 50 to 200 mg daily for 10-15 days.

In the treatment of chronic alcoholism it is administered 100 mg per day for a course of 6-15 days.

In order to restore the ability to work at increased loads it is administered in a daily dose of 200 mg for 10-15 days for athletes – in the same dose for 14 days of training period.

In complex therapy of vegetative dystonia syndrome it is prescribed in 100-200 mg for 10-15 days.

In the complex treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma it is administered in 100-200 mg per day for 10 days.

In the treatment of urinary disorders: 100 mg intramuscularly (for children from 3 to 10 years) to 200 mg per day (for children over 11 years and adults).

Interaction

Shortens the effect of barbiturates increases the effect of narcotic analgesics.

Special Instructions

Influence on the ability to operate vehicles and mechanisms: The drug may have a negative effect on potentially dangerous activities requiring special attention and responsiveness (driving a car, operating moving mechanisms, etc.).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity chronic renal insufficiency pregnancy lactation period children under 3 years of age (in children over 3 years is used for urinary disorders).

Side effects

Decreased blood pressure dizziness headache mild nausea irritability agitation anxiety allergic reactions (skin rash itching).

Overdose

Increased expression of dose-dependent symptoms of adverse reactions. Treatment is symptomatic.
