Naphthisin stimulates alpha2-adrenoreceptors, narrows nasal mucous membrane vessels, reduces swelling, hyperemia, exudation of the mucous membrane.
It eases nasal breathing in rhinitis.

Naphazoline nitrate 0.5 mg;

How to take, the dosage
Intranasally (into each nasal passage), 1-3 drops 3-4 times a day in adults.
Interaction
Do not use simultaneously with MAO inhibitors or within 10 days after the end of their use.
Delays absorption of local anesthetic drugs (prolongs their effect in surface anesthesia).
Special Instructions
It is not recommended for chronic rhinitis.
In long-term use it should be taken into account that the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), so after 5-7 days of use it is recommended to take a break for a few days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug components, arterial hypertension, hyperthyroidism, marked atherosclerosis, tachycardia, concomitant use of MAO inhibitors and the period up to 14 days after termination of their use, pediatric age.
Side effects
Reactions caused by the local action of the drug: mucous membrane irritation, reactive hyperemia, when used for more than 1 week – mucous membrane edema, atrophic rhinitis.
Reactions caused by the systemic action of the drug: nausea, headache; in some cases in predisposed patients – increase in BP, tachycardia.
Overdose
Symptoms: decreased body temperature, bradycardia, increased BP. Treatment: symptomatic.
