Ketoconazole-Altpharm, vaginal suppositories 400 mg 5 pcs

Antifungal drug from the group of imidazoldioxolan derivatives for topical use.

It has fungicidal and fungistatic effect, the mechanism of which is inhibition of ergosterol biosynthesis and changes in the lipid composition of the fungal membrane.

It is active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum spp.) and yeasts (Candida spp., Pityrosporum spp.).

It is also active against Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp.

Indications

– treatment of acute and chronic recurrent vaginal mycosis;

– prevention of fungal infections of the vagina with reduced resistance of the body and against the background of treatment with drugs that disrupt the normal vaginal flora.

How to take, the dosage

Suppositories are inserted deep into the vagina in the supine position once a day for 3-5 days depending on the course of the disease; the course of treatment is repeated if necessary.

Interaction

Concomitant use of Livarol with rifampicin and isoniazid decreases the concentration of ketoconazole in plasma.

Concomitant use of Livarol with cyclosporine, indirect anticoagulants and methylprednisolone may increase their concentration in plasma.

Special Instructions

When using Livarol, it is not recommended to use latex diaphragms and condoms, as this may reduce their contraceptive effect.

Contraindications

– hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

Allergic reactions: itching, burning at the injection site.

Other: rare – nausea, dizziness.

Overdose

There are no data on overdose of Livarol.
