Antifungal agent.

It has fungicidal and fungistatic action.

The mechanism of action is inhibition of ergosterol synthesis and changes in the lipid composition of the membrane.

It is active against the causative agent of variegated lichen Malassezia furfur, causative agents of some dermatomycoses (Trichophyton, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum), causative agents of candidiasis (Candida) as well as causative agents of systemic mycoses (Cryptococcus).

It is also active against Gram-positive cocci: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.

Indications

Fungal infections of the gastrointestinal tract, genital organs, skin, hair (including seborrheic dermatitis), nails, caused by sensitive pathogens. Systemic mycoses. Prevention of fungal lesions in patients with an increased risk of their development.

How to take, the dosage

Intravaginally.

Pre-release the suppository from the contour pack and insert it deep into the vagina in the supine position for 1 suppository per day for 3-5 days depending on the course of the disease.

In chronic candidiasis 1 suppository is used for 10 days.

If after treatment there is no improvement or new symptoms appear, it is necessary to consult a doctor.

Interaction

Ketoconazole is practically not subject to systemic absorption when used intravaginally as a suppository and interactions with other drugs are unlikely.

Special Instructions

In rare cases, allergic reactions (penile hyperemia) in the sexual partner may occur.

To reduce the risk of recurrence of the disease, concomitant treatment of the sexual partner is recommended.

The use of suppositories may reduce the reliability of mechanical contraception (latex-containing condoms and vaginal diaphragms).

Overdose
