Imunofan – detoxifying, hepatoprotective, antioxidant, immunomodulatory.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug has immune-regulating, detoxifying, hepatoprotective effect and causes inactivation of free radical and peroxide compounds. It corrects the state of the immune system, restores the balance of oxidation-antioxidant reactions of the body and promotes overcoming of multiple drug resistance of tumor cells, mediated by proteins of the cell transmembrane transport pump.

The action of the drug starts within 2-3 hours (fast phase) and lasts up to 4 months (middle and slow phases).

In the middle phase (begins after 2-3 days, duration – up to 7-10 days) there is an increase of phagocytosis reactions and death of intracellular bacteria and viruses.

In the slow phase (starts after 7-10 days, duration – up to 4 months) the immunoregulatory action of Imunofan® manifests itself – restoration of disturbed indices of cellular and humoral immunity. During this period, normalization of immunoregulatory index is observed, increased production of specific antibodies is noted. Influence of the drug on production of specific antiviral and antibacterial antibodies is equivalent to the action of therapeutic vaccines. Unlike the latter the preparation does not influence significantly on production of reactive antibodies of IgE class and does not strengthen reaction of immediate hypersensitivity type; Immunofan® stimulates production of IgA at its congenital insufficiency.

Inmunophan® effectively suppresses multiple drug resistance of tumor cells and increases their sensitivity to the action of chemotherapeutic agents.

How to take, the dosage

Rectally. The single dose and daily dose is 100 mcg (0.1 mg) 1 suppository.

Once, daily, treatment course of 8 – 10 suppositories before chemo-radiation therapy and surgery with subsequent continuation of the course for the duration of treatment.

Once daily, 8 – 10 suppositories, with 15-20 days interval of treatment and the courses repeated for the period of subsequent treatment.

Once a day, daily, treatment course of 10-20 suppositories. The drug should be administered during the whole course of chemotherapy and after the course is over to prevent toxemia.

once a day, daily, treatment course of 10 suppositories.

Once a day, daily, treatment course 15 – 20 suppositories.

once a day, daily, treatment course 15 – 20 suppositories. If necessary, repeat courses in 2-4 weeks.

Once a day, daily, treatment course 15 – 20 suppositories, to prevent relapse should be repeated in 2 – 3 months.

once a day, daily, treatment course of 8 – 10 suppositories. In diphtheria bacteriocarriers – once in 3 days – 3-5 suppositories.

1 time every 3 days, the course of treatment 8 – 10 suppositories, if necessary the course should be continued to 20 suppositories at the same interval.

Once on the day of vaccination.

Interaction

It increases the effectiveness of other types of drug therapy: the use of immunophan helps to overcome resistance to glucocorticosteroid therapy.

The drug can be prescribed in combination with anti-inflammatory steroid and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Special Instructions

As a result of activation of phagocytosis, short-term exacerbation of foci of chronic inflammation maintained due to persistence of viral or bacterial antigens is possible.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; children under 2 years of age.

Side effects

Possible: individual intolerance, allergic reactions.

Pregnancy use

Due to insufficient research, caution should be exercised during pregnancy and lactation.
