Hepa-Merz is hepatoprotective.

Pharmacodynamics

Participates in the ornithine cycle of Krebs urea formation (biosynthesis of urea from ammonia).

Promotes the production of insulin and STH. It improves the detoxification function of the liver and lowers elevated levels of ammonia in the plasma.

Enhances protein metabolism in diseases requiring parenteral nutrition.

Pharmacokinetics

Dissociates into ornithine and aspartate, which are absorbed in the small intestine by active transport through the intestinal epithelium.

Extracted with the urine through the urea cycle.

How to take, the dosage

Orally, after meals, 1 sachet of granules, pre-dissolved in 200 ml of liquid, 2-3 times a day.

Special Instructions

If nausea or vomiting occurs, the rate of administration of the drug should be reduced.

Impact on driving and operating machinery

In case of hepatic encephalopathy, caution should be exercised when driving motor vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

Severe renal dysfunction (plasma creatinine level 3 mg/100 ml).

Side effects

Rarely – skin reactions, in some cases – nausea, vomiting.

Overdose

Symptoms: increased severity of side effects.

Pregnancy use

During pregnancy the drug may be used only under the close supervision of a physician.

Breastfeeding should be stopped during treatment.
