Pharmacodynamics

Participates in the ornithine cycle of Krebs urea formation (biosynthesis of urea from ammonia). It promotes the production of insulin and STH. Improves detoxification function of the liver, lowers elevated plasma ammonia levels. Improves protein metabolism in diseases requiring parenteral nutrition.

Pharmacokinetics

Dissociates into ornithine and aspartate, which are absorbed in the small intestine by active transport through the intestinal epithelium. It is excreted with the urine through the urea cycle.

Indications

Liver damage, Alcoholism, Liver cirrhosis, Overeating, Hepatitis Acute and chronic liver diseases accompanied by hyperammonemia. Hepatic encephalopathy (latent and severe). Steatoses and steatohepatitis (of different genesis).

How to take, the dosage

Orally, after meals, 1 sachet of granules pre-dissolved in 200 ml of liquid, 2-3 times a day.

Contraindications

Severe renal dysfunction (plasma creatinine level 3 mg/100 ml).

Side effects

Rarely – skin reactions, in some cases – nausea, vomiting.
