Indications

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, periodontitis, gingivitis, stomatitis.

Pharmacological effect

A combined drug for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the throat and oral cavity.

The drug contains the antimicrobial agent gramicidin C and the antiseptic agent cetylpyridinium chloride. The mechanism of action of gramicidin C is associated with an increase in the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane of the microbial cell, which disrupts its stability and causes death.

Gramicidin C has an antibacterial effect against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. Cetylpyridinium chloride is an antiseptic that inhibits the growth and reproduction of pathogens that cause infectious diseases of the mouth and throat. The drug has an antimicrobial effect, reduces inflammation, softens discomfort in the throat, and makes swallowing easier.

Pharmacokinetics
Local action drug. According to preclinical pharmacokinetic studies, absorption is practically absent.

Special instructions

The drug should not be used if there are open wounds in the oral cavity, since cetylpyridinium chloride slows down wound healing.
The drug contains ethanol. In the maximum single dose of the drug, the ethanol content is up to 0.08 g.

Purified water – up to 0.2 ml.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy (II-III trimester). Before using the drug, if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy, you should consult your doctor. There have been no adequate controlled studies of the use of the drug during pregnancy. The use of the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy is contraindicated. The use of the drug in the II-III trimester of pregnancy is possible if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.
There is no data on the penetration of drug components into breast milk. If it is necessary to use the drug during lactation, breastfeeding should be stopped.

Contraindications

– hypersensitivity to gramicidin C, cetylpyridinium chloride and other components of the drug;
-pregnancy (I trimester);
-breastfeeding period;
-children up to 6 years old.
