Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid. Dexpanthenol is converted in the body into pantothenic acid, which is part of coenzyme A and is involved in the processes of acetylation in the synthesis of acetylcholine, corticosteroids porphyrins.
Pharmacokinetics:
When applied topically, it is rapidly absorbed by the skin and converted to pantothenic acid binds to plasma proteins (mainly beta globulin and albumin). Its concentration in blood is 05-1 mg/L in serum is 100 µg/L. Pantothenic acid is not metabolized in the body (except for inclusion in Co-A) is excreted unchanged.
Indications

For mammary gland care during breastfeeding (cracked and reddened nipples), for care of infants and children (diaper rash, diaper dermatitis).

Directions for use
Externally. The ointment is applied in a thin layer 1-2 times a day on the affected surface and lightly rubbed.
In breast care the ointment is applied to the nipple surface after each breastfeeding.
When caring for infants the ointment is applied after every change of clothes or water procedure.
If after the treatment the improvement does not occur, or the symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, you should consult a doctor. Use the drug only according to the indications, the method of application and in the doses specified in the instructions for use.
Special Instructions
For external use only. Do not apply to soaking wounds.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to dexpanthenol and components of the drug.
Side effects
Allergic reactions, allergic skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, itching, redness, eczema, rash, urticaria, skin irritation).
