PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Combined drug; has antispasmodic (belladonna extract) and anti-inflammatory (ichthyol) effects.

Special instructions

The possible penetration of belladonna alkaloids through the blood-brain barrier and possible interactions with drugs that affect the central nervous system should be taken into account. In therapeutic doses, belladonna alkaloids have a moderate stimulating effect on the central nervous system, in large doses – an stimulating effect, in toxic doses – agitation, hallucinations, followed by inhibition and coma. The simultaneous administration of the drug and other drugs with anticholinergic activity should be avoided, as the likelihood of side effects increases. Belladonna (belladonna) extract helps reduce the rate of absorption of concomitantly used drugs due to inhibition of the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery
During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration, speed of psychomotor reactions and good vision.

Composition

active ingredients: thick belladonna extract – 15 mg (containing total alkaloids in terms of hyoscyamine 1.5% – 0.225 mg), ichthammol (ichthyol) – 200 mg;

excipients: purified water, emulsifier T-2, solid fat (vitepsol brand N 15, W 35, supposir brand NA 15, NAS 50).

Pregnancy

The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated. If it is necessary to use the drug during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, angle-closure glaucoma, benign prostatic hyperplasia, obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, intestinal atony, active ulcerative colitis, chronic heart failure in the stage of decompensation, tachycardia, myasthenia gravis, pregnancy, breastfeeding, age up to 18 years.

With caution
Autonomic neuropathy, hyperthyroidism, coronary heart disease, chronic heart failure, mitral stenosis, kidney disease, hiatal hernia, reflux esophagitis, increased body temperature (the likelihood of developing fever and heat stroke due to suppression of the activity of the sweat glands).

Side Effects

Dry mouth, thirst, constipation, tachycardia, mydriasis, accommodation paresis, dizziness, photophobia, urinary retention, allergic reactions.

Interaction

When used simultaneously with tricyclic antidepressants, it is possible to enhance the m-anticholinergic effects of the drug (dry mouth, impaired accommodation, tachycardia, constipation, etc.).

When used with drugs that increase heart rate (including procainamide), severe tachycardia is possible.

Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors increase the risk of side effects and enhance the positive chrono- and bathmotropic effect; when used together with cardiac glycosides, the positive bathmotropic effect is enhanced.

When taken simultaneously with belladonna (belladonna) and ethanol (alcohol), the inhibitory effect on the central nervous system (CNS) may be enhanced.

Overdose

Symptoms: dryness of the oral and nasal mucosa, thirst, constipation, tachycardia, mydriasis, accommodation paresis, dizziness, photophobia, decreased sweating, urinary retention; in more severe cases – psychomotor agitation, convulsions, acute urinary retention.

In case of overdose, use of the drug should be stopped and consult a doctor.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Storage conditions

Store in a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 20°C.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life

2 years. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
