Apisartron ointment 20 g

Combined medicinal product for external use on the basis of highly purified bee venom.

Bee venom has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect (stabilizes lysosomal membranes), shows antibacterial effect (inhibits the growth of Gram-positive bacteria).

Methylsalicylate belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, has strong anti-inflammatory effect (inhibits prostaglandin production, inhibits cyclooxygenase).

Allilisothiocyanate (purified standardized extract of mustard oil) causes deep warming of tissues, improves local blood flow, reduces tonic contraction of muscles.

Indications

Diseases of the peripheral nervous system, accompanied by a feeling of pain: neuralgia, neuritis, radiculitis, pain in the lumbar region (sciatica);

muscle pain (myalgia) and soft tissue damage, including those caused by injury;

warming up the muscles before, during and after physical activity and sports;

tendon injuries/strains accompanied by pain and swelling;

diseases of the musculoskeletal system (osteoarthrosis, rheumatic lesions of soft tissues), degenerative lesions and joint pain.

Special instructions

The drug should not be applied to damaged and irritated skin, as well as to areas affected by skin diseases.

In patients with renal failure, Apizartron should not be used on large areas of the skin for a long time.

Avoid contact of the ointment with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds.

Composition

100 g of the drug contains:

Active substances:
Bee venom – 3.0 mg;
Methyl salicylate – 10.0 g;
Allyl isothiocyanate – 1.0 g.
Excipients:
sodium lauryl sulfate – 0.7 g;
white Vaseline – 6.0 g;
emulsified cetostearyl alcohol – 14.0 g, which contains: sodium cetylstearyl sulfate – 1.4 g, cetostearyl alcohol – 12.6 g;
water – up to 100 g.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to bee venom, salicylates, isothiocyanate;
severe chronic renal failure;
liver failure;
skin diseases;
neoplasms;
skin damage;
acute arthritis;
infectious diseases;
inhibition of bone marrow hematopoiesis;
mental illness;
children’s age (up to 6 years);
pregnancy and lactation period.

Side Effects

In rare cases, allergic skin reactions and irritation at the application site are possible.

Interaction

Methyl salicylate enhances the effect of anticoagulants, methotrexate.

Overdose

Data on overdose of the drug Apizartron are not provided.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of the reach of children!
