Apisartron ointment 20 g

Combined medicinal product for external use on the basis of highly purified bee venom.

Bee venom has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect (stabilizes lysosomal membranes), shows antibacterial effect (inhibits the growth of Gram-positive bacteria).

Methylsalicylate belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, has strong anti-inflammatory effect (inhibits prostaglandin production, inhibits cyclooxygenase).

Allilisothiocyanate (purified standardized extract of mustard oil) causes deep warming of tissues, improves local blood flow, reduces tonic contraction of muscles.

Indications

Muscle pain (myalgia), trigeminal neuralgia, Neuritis, Osteoarthritis, Radiculitis, Arthritis, Arthritis, Warming up muscles before sports, Sciatica

• Diseases of the peripheral nervous system accompanied by a feeling of pain: Neuralgia, neuritis, radiculitis, lumbar pain (sciatica);

Active ingredient

Methylsalylate, Bee Venom

Composition

In 100 g of the drug contains:

Active ingredients:

• bee venom – 3.0 mg;
• Methylsalicylate – 10.0 g;
• Allilisothiocyanate – 1.0 g.

Excipients:

• sodium lauryl sulfate – 0.7 g;
• white petroleum jelly – 6.0 g;
• emulsified cetostearyl alcohol – 14.0 g, which contains: sodium cetyl stearyl sulfate – 1.4 g, cetostearyl alcohol – 12.6 g;
• water – up to 100 g.

How to take, the dosage

Externally.

The ointment is 3 – 5 cm long, spread evenly on the skin (layer thickness about 1 mm) until there is redness and a feeling of warmth (2-3 minutes).

Then slowly and intensely rub the ointment into the skin. It is recommended to keep the treated areas warm to enhance the therapeutic effect.

Perform 2 to 3 times a day until the symptoms disappear (not more than 10 days).

Interaction

Methylsalicylate increases the effect of anticoagulants, methotrexate.

Special Instructions

The drug should not be applied to damaged or irritated skin, or to areas affected by skin disease.

In patients with renal insufficiency, Apisartron should not be used on large areas of skin for long periods of time.

Apisartron ointment should not be allowed to come into contact with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds.

Synopsis

The ointment is white to slightly yellowish in color, of homogeneous consistency with a smell of methyl salicylate.

Contraindications

• High sensitivity to bee venom, salicylates, isothiocyanate;
• Severe chronic renal failure;
• hepatic insufficiency;
• skin diseases;
• new growths;
• skin injuries;
• acute arthritis;
• infectious diseases;
• inhibition of bone marrow hematopoiesis;
• psychiatric disorders;
• childhood (under 6 years);
• pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects

In rare cases, skin allergic reactions, irritation at the site of application are possible.

Overdose

There are no data on overdose of Apisartron.
