Anauran, ear drops 25 ml

Anauran is a combination drug for topical use with antibacterial and local anesthetic effects.

Neomycin sulfate is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic. It is bactericidal against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteria, Shigella flexneri, Shigella boydii, Shigella sonnei, Proteus spp.) microorganisms; against Streptococcus spp. – is inactive against Streptococcus spp.

Polymyxin B is a polypeptide antibiotic. It is active against Gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteria, Shigella flexneri, Shigella boydii, Shigella sonnei, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

He is active against Proteus spp., Mycobacterium spp., Gram-positive cocci, fungi. It has a weak local irritating effect.

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic, quickly eliminates pain and itching.

Indications

acute and chronic external otitis media;
acute otitis media at the stage before perforation;
chronic exudative otitis media;
postoperative purulent complications after radical mastoidectomy, tympanoplasty, anthrotomy, fenestration.

Pharmacological effect

Special instructions

Anauran is used exclusively for ear diseases.

For severe and persistent infections, local treatment must be supplemented with systemic antibiotics.

Long-term use of Anauran, like other antibiotics, can lead to the development of superinfection with drug-resistant microorganisms.

Composition

Active ingredients:

polymyxin B sulfate 1000000 IU,

neomycin sulfate 0.5 g (equivalent to 375,000 IU)

lidocaine hydrochloride

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Side Effects

Local allergic reactions are possible, which disappear without treatment after discontinuation of Anauran: Hyperemia, itching and peeling of the skin of the external auditory canal.

Systemic effects are unlikely due to the low doses of the drug used.

However, with long-term treatment with Anauran, systemic effects may occur, in particular, ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity due to the absorption of neomycin.

Interaction

Incompatible with monomycin, streptomycin, gentamicin, amikacin, netilmicin (the ototoxic effect of the above antibiotics may be enhanced).

Storage conditions

In a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature of 10 – 25 °C.
