The principle of the test
The method of determining the content of alcohol in saliva is based on a highly specific enzymatic reaction of oxidation of primary alcohols by alcohol oxidase to aldehyde and hydrogen peroxide, which, decomposed in the presence of peroxidase, causes oxidation of chromogen into a colored product. The intensity and color of the color indicates the alcohol concentration in the analyzed sample, which is determined by the color scale.

Analytical characteristics
Detection sensitivity (minimum detectable concentration) is 0.02% alcohol (corresponding to 0.2 ppm blood alcohol).

Specificity. Sensor element “Alko-Screen” is sensitive to methanol, ethanol, propanol, is not sensitive to other alcohols and acetone.

With the help of “ALKO-SCREEN” you can determine 0,02%, 0,05%, 0,1%, 0.2% of alcohol in saliva. The color scale has 5 color zones corresponding to the alcohol concentrations of 0; 0,2; 0,5; 1; 2 ppm.
