How the test works
The method for determining the alcohol content in saliva is based on a highly specific enzymatic reaction of oxidation of primary alcohols by alcohol oxidase to aldehyde and hydrogen peroxide, which, decomposing in the presence of peroxidase, causes the oxidation of the chromogen into a colored product. The intensity and color of the color indicates the alcohol concentration in the analyzed sample, which is determined using a color scale.

Analytical characteristics
Sensitivity of determination (minimum detectable concentration) – 0.02% alcohol (corresponds to 0.2 ppm of blood alcohol).

Specificity. The “ALCO-SCREEN” sensor element is sensitive to methanol, ethanol, propanol, and is not sensitive to other alcohols and acetone.

Using “ALCO-SCREEN” you can determine 0.02%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2% alcohol in saliva. The color scale contains 5 color zones corresponding to alcohol concentrations 0; 0.2; 0.5; 1; 2 ppm.
