Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

The drug reduces capillary permeability, strengthens the vascular wall, stabilizes the cell membrane, inhibits platelet aggregation, reduces blood clotting and viscosity and has anti-aggregation and anti-hypoxic effect.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug penetrates rapidly into the eye tissues where it is deposited and metabolized. In the tissues of the eye the concentration is higher than in the blood. Five metabolites, represented by disalkylated and conjugated products of its transformation, have been detected. It is metabolized in the liver. Metabolites are excreted by the kidneys. Binds to blood plasma proteins by an average of 42%.

Indications

– treatment and prevention of inflammations and burns of the cornea;

– treatment of hemorrhages in the anterior chamber of the eye;

– treatment and prevention of sclera hemorrhages in the elderly;

– thrombosis of the central vein of the retina and its branches;

– treatment of myopia complications;

– diabetic retinopathy.

If it is necessary to use other eye drops at the same time, the drug shall be injected last, after complete absorption of the previous drug (not earlier than 15 minutes).
