Special instructions
“Vizin® Classic” should be used with caution in elderly patients, in patients with aneurysms, hypertension and/or coronary heart disease, as well as in patients with type I diabetes mellitus or hyperthyroidism.
Safety studies of the drug in children and adolescents have not been conducted.
Contact lenses should be removed before instilling the drug and installed after 15 minutes. It is necessary to avoid direct contact of the drug with soft contact lenses due to possible disruption of their transparency.
It is possible to develop reactive hyperemia of the conjunctiva and nasal mucosa (medicinal rhinitis) if the instructions for use are not followed.
If the condition does not improve within 72 hours or if irritation and redness persist or increase, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor. If you experience intense pain in the eyes, severe acute or unilateral redness of the eyes, headache, blurred vision, spots before the eyes or double vision, you should immediately consult a doctor.
Long-term use of the drug may increase hyperemia or lead to its reappearance.
If irritation or redness is caused by diseases of the organ of vision: infection, foreign body or chemical injury to the cornea, consult a doctor before use.
The use of the drug may cause temporary dilation of the pupil.
Long-term use and overdose of the drug should be avoided, especially in children.
Do not use the drug if its color changes or becomes cloudy.
Local application of sympathomimetic amines into the conjunctival sac, resulting in pupil dilation, can sometimes lead to disturbances in intraocular pressure in susceptible individuals.
If the medicine has become unusable or has expired, do not pour it into wastewater or throw it outside! Place the medication in a bag and place it in the trash. These measures will help protect the environment!

Clinical pharmacology
Pharmacodynamics:
Tetrizoline is a sympathomimetic drug that stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors of the sympathetic nervous system, but has no or weak effect on beta-adrenergic receptors. Being a sympathomimetic amine, tetrizoline has a vasoconstrictor effect and reduces tissue swelling.
The effect begins 60 seconds after instillation and lasts 4–8 hours.
Pharmacokinetics:
When applied topically, it is practically not absorbed. Detailed pharmacokinetic studies have not been conducted following topical application of eye drops.
