Pharmacokinetics

When administered under the tongue therapeutic effect occurs on average in 5 minutes, while up to 70% of the drug is released within 3 minutes.

Indications

Functional cardialgia, neuroses, and also as an antiemetic for sea and air sickness.

With sublingual (sublingual) administration, the therapeutic effect occurs on average after 5 minutes, with up to 70% of the drug released within 3 minutes.

Pharmacokinetics
When administered sublingually, levomenthol is absorbed from the oral mucosa, metabolized in the liver and excreted to the kidneys in the form of glucuronides.

Special instructions

Concomitant use of alcohol is not recommended. Use with caution in patients with diabetes (the drug contains sugar). The amount of sucrose in 1 tablet corresponds to 0.09 XE (bread units).

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and machinery
During the period of use of the drug, care must be taken when performing potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, working as a dispatcher, operator).

Composition

Active ingredient: levomenthol solution in menthyl isovalerate (validol) – 60.0 mg;
Excipients: sucrose (white sugar) – 1140.7 mg, dextrose monohydrate (glucose monohydrate) – 17.3 mg, calcium stearate – 5.0 mg.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and lactation, validol is prescribed only if the expected therapeutic effect for the mother exceeds the possible negative effect of the drug on the fetus and infant.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, sucrase/isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, age under 18 years (there are no data on the effectiveness and safety of the drug in children).
Should be prescribed with caution to patients with diabetes mellitus (the drug contains sugar).

Side Effects

Nausea, lacrimation, and dizziness may occur. When the drug is discontinued, these side effects usually go away on their own. Allergic reactions may develop (skin rash, itching, angioedema).

Interaction

When used simultaneously with drugs that depress the central nervous system, it enhances the effect of the latter.
Simultaneous use with nitrates helps reduce headaches that occur when using them.

Overdose

Symptoms: headache, nausea, state of agitation, cardiac dysfunction, sharp decrease in blood pressure, depression of the central nervous system.
Treatment: drug withdrawal, symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 C.
Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life
