Umkalor, 20 ml dropper bottle

Phytopreparation used in infectious diseases of ENT organs.

It has antibacterial action, has mucolytic properties. It helps to increase nonspecific resistance.

Pharmacokinetics

The action of the drug Umkalor is the combined effect of the components of the liquid extract of Pelargonium sideridum root, so it is not possible to conduct kinetic studies.

Indications

In the complex therapy: acute and chronic respiratory tract, ear, throat and nose infections (including sinusitis, rhinopharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis).

Composition

Associates:

Glycerol 85% – 20 g.

Extractant: ethanol 11% (wt/mass).

How to take, the dosage

The drug should be taken 30 minutes before a meal with small amount of fluid. When dosing the drug, the bottle should be held vertically, tapping the bottom of the bottle if necessary.

The average duration of treatment is 10 days. After the symptoms of the disease have disappeared, it is recommended to continue treatment for several days to prevent a recurrence.

Interaction

The simultaneous use of Umkalor with coumarin derivatives may increase the anticoagulant effect.

Special Instructions

During storage the liquid plant extracts tend to become cloudy, however, this does not affect their pharmacological effectiveness, since Umkalor is a natural product, slight changes in color and taste of the drug are possible.

Because of the ethanol content (12%/vol.) in the product – the maximum single dose for children older than 12 years and adults contains 0.125 g of absolute ethanol, the maximum daily dose for children older than 12 years and adults contains 0.375 g of absolute ethanol. A single dose for children under 12 years of age contains less than 0.1 g of absolute ethyl alcohol.

Impact on ability to drive and operate machinery

When using the drug, caution must be taken when engaging in potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

With caution, use the drug in case of alcoholism, craniocerebral injury, brain disease, liver and kidney function disorders (no experience of use), and in children over 1 year old.

Side effects

The drug is well tolerated.

Digestive system disorders: rarely – nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, diarrhea.

Others: allergic reactions possible.

Overdose

There are currently no known cases of overdose of Umkalor.
