Tiloron-SZ, 125 mg 6 pcs

Low-molecular synthetic inducer of interferon stimulating formation of all types of interferons in the body (alpha, beta, gamma and lambda).

The main producers of interferon in response to tiloron administration are intestinal epithelial cells, hepatocytes, T-lymphocytes, neutrophils and granulocytes. After oral administration the maximum production of interferon is determined in the sequence intestine – liver – blood in 4-24 hours.

Tiloron has immunomodulatory and antiviral effect. After a single oral administration of Tiloron at a dose equivalent to the maximum daily dose for humans, the maximum concentration in the lung tissue of interferon lambda was determined after 24 hours, interferon alpha – after 48 hours.

Induction of interferon lambda in lung tissue increases antiviral protection of the respiratory tract during influenza and other respiratory viral infections.

In human leukocytes it induces interferon synthesis. Stimulates bone marrow stem cells, depending on the dose increases antibody formation, reduces the degree of immunosuppression, restores the ratio of T-suppressors and T-helpers.

Effective against various viral infections including flu viruses, other acute respiratory viral infections, hepatitis viruses and herpesviruses. The mechanism of antiviral action is connected to inhibition of translation of virus-specific proteins in infected cells, thus suppressing the reproduction of viruses.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration it is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Bioavailability is 60%. About 80% of the drug is bound to plasma proteins. The drug is eliminated practically unchanged in intestine (70%) and kidney (9%). The elimination half-life (T1/2) is 48 hours. The drug is not biotransformed and does not accumulate in the body.

In adults:

– treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory infections;

– treatment of herpetic infection.

Prevention of influenza and other acute respiratory infections in adults.

One film-coated tablet contains:

active ingredient: tiloron dihydrochloride – 125 mg;

excipients (core): Microcrystalline cellulose – 105.0 mg; potato starch-46.0 mg; hypromellose (hydroxypropyl-methylcellulose)-4.0 mg, hyprolose (hydroxypropyl-polycellulose) -17.0 mg; magnesium stearate – 3.0 mg;

excipients (shell): Opa-dry II 85F220184 – 9.0 mg (macrogol (polyethylene glycol) 3350 – 2.7890 mg; talc – 1.1806 mg; titanium dioxide E 171 – 1.1874 mg; aluminum varnish based on sunset yellow dye E 110 – 1.3315 mg; iron oxide yellow dye E 172 – 1.1800 mg, indigo carmine dye E 132 – 1.3315 mg).

How to take, the dosage

Tiloron is taken orally after a meal.

For the treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections – 125 mg per day for the first 2 days of treatment, then 125 mg every 48 hours. For the course – 750 mg (6 pills).

For prevention of flu and other acute respiratory viral infections – 125 mg once a week during 6 weeks. For the course – 750 mg (6 tablets).

For the treatment of herpetic infection – the first 2 days by 125 mg, then in 48 hours by 125 mg. The course dose is 1.25 to 2.5 g (10-20 pills).

In the treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory infections, in case the symptoms persist for more than 4 days, consult a physician.

Interaction

Compatible with antibiotics and drugs of traditional treatment of viral and bacterial diseases. No clinically significant interaction of tiloron with antibiotics and agents of traditional treatment of viral and bacterial diseases was found.

Special Instructions

Effect of the drug for medical use on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms

The drug does not adversely affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

– Hypersensitivity to tiloron or any other component of the drug;

– pregnancy and lactation;

– childhood (under 18 years).

Side effects

Allergic reactions, dyspeptic phenomena, short-term chills are possible.

If any of the side effects specified in the instructions are aggravated, or if you notice any other side effects not specified in the instructions, inform the doctor.

Overdose

Cases of drug overdose are unknown.

Pregnancy use

The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy. If it is necessary to prescribe the drug during lactation, breastfeeding should be stopped.
