Low molecular synthetic interferon inducer that stimulates formation of interferon alpha, beta and gamma in the body. The main producers of interferon in response to tiloron administration are intestinal epithelial cells, hepatocytes, T-lymphocytes, neutrophils and granulocytes. After oral administration the maximum production of interferon is determined in the sequence intestine – liver – blood in 4-24 hours. Tiloron has immunomodulatory and antiviral effects. In human leukocytes it induces synthesis of interferon. It stimulates bone marrow stem cells, and, depending on the dose, increases antibody production, reduces the degree of immunosuppression, restores the ratio of T-suppressors and T-helpers. Effective against various viral infections, including influenza viruses, other acute respiratory viral infections, hepatitis viruses and herpesviruses. The mechanism of antiviral action is associated with inhibition of translation of virus-specific proteins in infected cells, resulting in suppression of virus reproduction.

Pharmacokinetics
After oral administration is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Bioavailability -60%. About 80% of the drug is bound to plasma proteins. The drug is excreted practically unchanged in intestine (70%) and kidney (9%). Excretion period is 48 hours. The drug is not biotransformed and does not accumulate in the body.

• Treatment and prevention of influenza, other acute respiratory viral infections (ARI); treatment of viral hepatitis A, B and C;

Composition

Composition per tablet:
active ingredient: tiloron dihydrochloride (tiloron) -125.0 mg.
excipients (core): lactose monohydrate (milk sugar) -101.0 mg, microcrystalline cellulose – 45.0 mg, croscar chalk sodium – 9.0 mg, water – 5.0 mg, povidon-K17 – 12.0 mg, magnesium stearate – 3.0 mg.
Excipients (coating): hypromellose – 5.7 mg, macrogol-4000 – 1.4 mg, titanium dioxide – 2.8 mg, tropelolin dye – 0.1 mg.

How to take, the dosage

For the treatment of viral hepatitis A it is taken orally after the meal. 125 mg twice daily for the first day and then 125 mg every 48 hours. For the course of treatment -1.25 g.
For treatment of acute hepatitis B – first two days 125 mg and then 125 mg after 48 hours, for the course of treatment – 2 g. In long-term course of hepatitis B – 125 mg 2 times a day during the first day and then 125 mg after 48 hours. Per course of treatment – 2.5 g. In chronic hepatitis B the initial phase of treatment (2.5 g) – first two days with 125 mg 2 times a day, then 125 mg after 48 hours. Continuation phase (1.25 g to 2.5 g), 125 mg per week. The course dose of tiloron is from 3.75 to 5 g; therapy duration is 3.5-6 months, depending on the results of biochemical, immunologic and morphologic studies, which reflect the degree of process activity.
In acute hepatitis C – 125 mg daily during the first two days, then 125 mg every 48 hours. The course of treatment is 2.5 g.
In chronic hepatitis C the initial phase of treatment (2.5 g) – the first two days 125 mg twice a day and then 125 mg in 48 hours. Continuation phase (2.5 g) – 125 mg per week. The course dose of Tiloron is 5 g; therapy duration – 6 months, depending on the results of biochemical, immunological and morphological markers of the process activity.
In combination therapy of infectious and allergic viral encephalomyelitis – 125-250 mg per day during the first two days of therapy, then 125 mg every 48 hours. The dose is adjusted individually; the course of treatment is 3-4 weeks. For the treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory infections, use 125 mg daily for the first 2 days and 125 mg every 48 hours thereafter. The course of treatment is 750 mg. For the prevention of flu and other acute respiratory viral infections – 125 mg once a week for 6 weeks. For the course – 750 mg.
For the treatment of herpetic, cytomegalovirus infection – first 2 days by 125 mg, then in 48 hours by 125 mg. The course dose is 1.25-2.5 g. In urogenital and respiratory chlamydia – first two days with 125 mg, then 48 hours later with 125 mg. The course dose is 1.25 g. In combination therapy of pulmonary tuberculosis: 250 mg during the first two days of treatment and 125 mg every 48 hours thereafter. The course dose is 2.5 g.

Interaction

Compatible with antibiotics and drugs of traditional treatment of viral and bacterial diseases. No clinically significant interaction of tiloron with antibiotics and agents of traditional treatment of viral and bacterial diseases and alcohol was found.

Special Instructions

Effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery No data on the effect of the drug on the ability to drive a car and engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require high concentration and quick psychomotor reactions in the recommended doses.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Tyloron and other components of the drug.

With caution
in the complex therapy of infectious-allergic and viral encephalomyelitis the drug is used under the supervision of a physician.

Side effects
