It is inactivated encephalitis virus with formalin.
The vaccine forms immunity to tick-borne encephalitis virus.
Indications
Scheduled preventive immunization in high risk areas, as well as selective vaccination of persons visiting tick-borne encephalitis areas.
Emergency care for suspected tick-bite bites in regions endemic for tick-bite encephalitis.
Active ingredient
Composition
One inoculation dose for children from 1 year to 16 years (0.25 ml) contains:
The active ingredient is inactivated antigen of the KE virus – titer not less than 1:128;
Auxiliary substances:
Human albumin (infusion solution* 10% or 20%) 0.125 mg,
sucrose 15 mg,
Aluminum hydroxide 0.2 mg;
buffer system salts:
sodium chloride 1.9 mg,
trometamol 0.03 mg.
How to take, the dosage
The primary vaccination course consists of three injections of the drug. The 1st and 2nd injections are administered in November-December, the 2nd no earlier than 14 days and no later than 30 days after the 1st; the 3rd injection three months after the 2nd, but no later than 14 days before the visit of the outbreak.
In case of emergency prophylaxis, double vaccination with an interval of 30-60 days is recommended, but the last vaccination no later than 14 days before entering the outbreak area. Thereafter, annual revaccination is recommended.
If two vaccinations are missed, the whole course is repeated. For adults and children over 6 years the dose is 1 ml, for children aged 4-6 years – 0.5 ml per injection. The vaccine is administered only p/k at the lower angle of the scapula. It is forbidden to inject the vaccine into other tissues and areas of the body!
Interaction
Can be used simultaneously with live and inactivated vaccines.
The interval between the use of immunoglobulin against tick-borne encephalitis and the vaccine should be at least 4 weeks.
Special Instructions
Vaccinations are allowed no earlier than 1 month after convalescence after febrile conditions, and no sooner than 6 months after convalescence for those who have had viral hepatitis and meningococcal infections. Vaccinations are allowed 2 weeks after delivery.
The use in children under 1 year of age is recommended only if there is a real risk of infection.
Avoid intravascular administration.
Contraindications
Fever states (infectious and non-infectious genesis), hereditary, progressive diseases of the nervous system, epilepsy with frequent seizures, food allergies (especially to eggs), bronchial asthma, collagenosis, chronic liver and kidney disease, chronic heart failure, stroke, diabetes, thyrotoxicosis, malignant tumors, blood disease, pregnancy.
Side effects
Very rare and most likely in case of hypersensitivity to chicken protein, to other components of the vaccine: increase in body temperature, headache in the first 2 days.
Local reactions are possible for not more than 5 days: a brief burning sensation at the injection site, rarely redness, soreness, development of infiltrates.
