Sulfacyl sodium, eye drops 20% 1.5 ml 2 pcs

Sulfacyl sodium is an antimicrobial bacteriostatic agent, sulfonamide. Mechanism of action is related to competitive antagonism with PABA and inhibition of dihydropteroat synthetase, which leads to disruption of dihydrofolic acid synthesis required for purine and pyrimidine synthesis.

Active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative cocci, Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Yersinia pestis, Chlamydia spp, Actinomyces israelii, Toxoplasma gondii.

Pharmacokinetics

It is practically not absorbed when applied topically.

Indications

The drug is used for: conjunctivitis, blepharitis, purulent corneal ulcers and other infectious eye diseases.

Prevention and treatment of blennorrhea in newborns.

How to take, the dosage

In the conjunctival sac 1-2 drops 5-6 times a day.

To prevent blenorrhea in newborns, 2 drops in each conjunctival sac immediately after birth and 2 drops after 2 hours.

Interaction

Co-use with novocaine and dicaine reduces the bacteriostatic effect of sodium sulfacyl.

Incompatibility of sodium sulfacyl when used together with silver salts has been observed.

Special Instructions

Patients with individual hypersensitivity to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, sulfonylurea, or carbohydrase inhibitors may exhibit hypersensitivity to sodium sulfacyl.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug Sulfacyl Sodium.

Side effects

When using the drug local tissue irritation (burning, redness, swelling, tears, lacrimation), allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose

There is no data on overdose of the drug.
