The drug has antiseptic action, active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms in vitro, has an antimycotic effect.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of sore throat in infectious and inflammatory diseases.
Pharmacological effect
The drug has an antiseptic effect, is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms in vitro, and has an antimycotic effect.
Special instructions
It is recommended to take the drug for the shortest possible course and in the minimum effective dose necessary to eliminate symptoms.
Patients with diabetes should note that each tablet contains about 2.6 g of sugar (0.22 XE).
High doses of ascorbic acid increase the excretion of oxalates, promoting the formation of kidney stones. Newborns whose mothers took high doses of ascorbic acid and adults who took high doses may experience rebound scurvy. With long-term use of large doses, inhibition of the function of the insular apparatus of the pancreas is possible.
In patients with high iron levels in the body, ascorbic acid should be used in minimal doses.
Ascorbic acid, as a reducing agent, can distort the results of various laboratory tests (the content of glucose, bilirubin in the blood and urine, the activity of “liver” transaminases and lactate dehydrogenase).
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and machinery
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and machinery, as well as to engage in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
Active ingredient
Amylmetacresol, Dichlorobenzyl alcohol, [Ascorbic acid]
Composition
One lozenge contains
active ingredients:
2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg,
amylmetacresol 0.6 mg,
ascorbic acid 100 mg;
excipients: orange flavor PHL 105288 3.12 mg, levomenthol 2 mg, propylene glycol 3 mg, sunset yellow dye 0.162 mg, crimson dye [Ponceau 4R] 0.0162 mg, tartaric acid 26 mg, liquid sucrose, liquid dextrose [dextrose, oligo- and polysaccharides] (liquid glucose) to obtain a tablet weighing 2.6 g.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug is used only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and child.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Children’s age up to 6 years.
Sucrase/isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption.
With caution
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, diabetes.
Side Effects
The following adverse reactions were observed with short-term use of the drug in recommended doses. When treating chronic conditions and with long-term use, other adverse reactions may occur.
The incidence of adverse reactions was assessed based on the following criteria: very often (≥ 1/10), often (from ≥ 1/100 to < 1/10), infrequently (from ≥ 1/1000
to <1/100), rare (from ≥ 1/10,000 to <1/1000), very rare (<1/10,000),
frequency unknown (insufficient data to estimate frequency).
Immune system disorders
Frequency unknown: hypersensitivity reactions.
Gastrointestinal disorders
Frequency unknown: nausea, abdominal pain, discomfort in the mouth (burning or tingling sensation, swelling).
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders
Frequency unknown: rash.
If the above or other adverse reactions not listed in the instructions occur, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
Interaction
No clinically significant interactions with other drugs have been identified. Concomitant use of the drug with other local antimicrobial agents is possible.
Ascorbic acid increases the absorption of drugs from the penicillin group, iron, reduces the clinical effect of heparin and indirect anticoagulants, increases the risk of developing crystalluria during treatment with salicylates and short-acting sulfonamides, slows down the excretion of acids by the kidneys, increases the excretion of drugs that have an alkaline reaction (including alkaloids), reduces the concentration in the blood of oral contraceptives.
Increases the overall clearance of ethanol, which in turn reduces the concentration of ascorbic acid in the body.
Quinoline drugs, calcium supplements, salicylates, and glucocorticosteroid drugs deplete ascorbic acid reserves when used for a long time.
When used simultaneously, it reduces the chronotropic effect of isoprenaline.
With long-term use or use in high doses, it may interfere with the interaction of disulfiram and ethanol.
In high doses, it increases the excretion of mexiletine by the kidneys.
Barbiturates and primidone increase the excretion of ascorbic acid by the kidneys.
Reduces the therapeutic effect of antipsychotic drugs (neuroleptics) – phenothiazine derivatives, tubular reabsorption of amphetamine and tricyclic antidepressants.
Overdose
It is unlikely that a possible overdose can lead to discomfort from the gastrointestinal tract: nausea.
High doses of ascorbic acid (more than 3000 mg) can cause temporary osmotic diarrhea and gastrointestinal disturbances, such as nausea, gastric discomfort, frequent urination, nephrolithiasis.
Treatment: symptomatic under medical supervision, forced diuresis.
Short product description
Has a pleasant orange taste.
Helps relieve sore throat.
Thanks to the lozenge format, the active substance is distributed more evenly in the tissues of the pharynx and lasts longer, which provides more opportunities for therapeutic effects.
The drug fights bacteria and fungi and has an antimycotic effect.
Read the instructions for medical use carefully before taking the drug.
