Septanasal, spray 0.1mg+5mg/dose 10 ml

Xylometazoline is a local vasoconstrictor (decongestant) with alpha-adrenomimetic activity, causes narrowing of blood vessels of nasal mucosa, restores nasal passageway, eliminates nasal congestion, facilitates nasal breathing. The action of xylometazoline usually comes within a few minutes after application and lasts up to 10 hours.

Dexpanthenol is a B vitamin and a derivative of pantothenic acid.

Dexpanthenol is converted by the body into pantothenic acid, which is part of coenzyme A (CoA), and is involved in acetylation processes, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, the synthesis of acetylcholine, corticosteroids, porphyrins, stimulates skin and mucous membrane repair, normalizes cell metabolism, accelerates mitosis and increases the strength of collagen fibers. It has a regenerating, metabolic and mild anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications

Acute respiratory diseases with rhinitis symptoms;

Acute allergic rhinitis;

Vasomotor rhinitis;

Sinusitis;

Otitis media (as part of combined therapy to reduce nasopharyngeal mucosal edema);

to facilitate rhinoscopy, to restore impaired nasal breathing after surgical interventions in the nasal cavity.

Composition

How to take, the dosage

Intranasally. One metered dose spray in each nasal passage 3-4 times a day.

Dosed nasal spray for adults and children over 6 years of age.

Nasal spray dosed for children – for children from 2 to 6 years of age.

Please remove the protective cap before use. Before using the spray for the first time or after a long break, press the pump dispenser several times until an even spray pattern appears.

Put the tip of the bottle vertically into the nasal passage, breathe in slowly through the nose while pressing the pump dispenser once. Repeat the procedure in the other nasal passage. After application the tip should be wiped with a paper towel and closed with a protective cap. The duration of therapy is 3-5 days.

Contraindications

Common to both dosage forms:

hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the drug;

arterial hypertension;

tachycardia;

pronounced atherosclerosis;

glaucoma;

atrophic rhinitis;

hyperthyroidism;

cerebral membrane surgery (history);

Perhaps prostatic hyperplasia;

concomitant use with MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants;

pregnancy;

Breastfeeding period.

For nasal spray dosage additionally

porphyria;

children under 6 years of age.

For nasal spray dosed for children additionally

dry rhinitis;

children under 2 years of age.

Common to both dosage forms:

With caution: diabetes mellitus, pheochromocytoma, cardiovascular diseases (including coronary heart disease, angina pectoris), hypersensitivity to the action of adrenergic drugs, accompanied by insomnia, dizziness, arrhythmias, tremors, increased BP.

Side effects

In frequent and/or prolonged use: irritation and/or dry nasopharyngeal mucosa, burning, tingling, sneezing, hypersecretion, allergic reactions, nasal mucosa edema, nausea, vomiting, headache, dry rhinitis, palpitations, increased BP, tachycardia, insomnia, visual disturbances, depression (with long-term use of high doses).
