Stimulates reparative processes in the skin and mucous membranes accelerates healing of damaged tissues. It has a restorative effect has antioxidant and cytoprotective effects. It reduces the intensity of free radical processes and protects cell and subcellular membranes from damage. Pharmacological effect is due to the presence of carotene (provitamin A) tocopherols (vitamin E) and unsaturated acids glycerides in sea buckthorn oil.
Indications
As wound-healing agent for stimulation of reparative processes in combination therapy for skin and mucous membrane lesions: in gastroenterology – for gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer; in gynecology – for colpitis endocervicitis erosion of the cervix; in otolaryngology – postoperative wounds; in proctology – for external hemorrhoids; for skin wounds, radiation lesions, burns.
As a general tonic.
Composition
Active ingredient – sea buckthorn oil concentrate with a total carotenoid content of 300 mg% (in terms of betacarotene) – 60 g. Auxiliary agent – sunflower oil – 40 g.
Directions for use
In gastroenterology the drug is taken orally by 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 10-14 days. The course of treatment can be prolonged up to 1-2 months upon the prescription of the doctor.

In cervical erosion the swabs densely soaked in sea-buckthorn oil (5-10 ml per swab) are inserted by pressing onto the erosive surface once a day for 20-30 minutes. With colpitis and endocervicitis lubricate the walls of the vagina after first cleaning them with cotton balls. The course of treatment of colpitis 10-15 procedures, endocervicitis and erosion 8-12 procedures.
– In external hemorrhoids after hygienic procedures a tampon abundantly moistened with sea buckthorn oil (5 – 10 ml per tampon) is pressed tightly to the hemorrhoids 1 – 2 times a day for 10 – 15 minutes. The course of treatment is 5 – 7 sessions.
– In otorhinolaryngology in tympanoplasty the swabs soaked in oil (5 – 10 ml per swab) are put for 2 – 3 hours in the external auditory canal or swab the wound surface during the middle ear sanitation. The procedure is performed daily after removal of postoperative tampons impregnated with antibiotic or hydrocortisone solution. The course of treatment is 7-10 procedures.
Outwardly, as wound-healing agent, the drug is applied to the affected area of the skin cleaned of necrotic tissues beforehand and a cotton-gauze bandage is applied. The procedure is repeated every other day (until granulation appears). The course of treatment is 7-10 procedures.
As a general tonic the preparation is used orally by 25 ml (1/2 tea spoon) once a day.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. For oral administration – cholecystitis cholangitis pancreatitis hepatitis cholelithiasis children under 12 years of age.
