Saridon is a combined medicine containing paracetamol, caffeine and propiphenazone.
Paracetamol and propiphenazone have analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Caffeine reduces sleepiness and fatigue and has an effect on the cardiovascular system.
increases the heart rate.
Elevates blood pressure in hypotension and in this combination increases the analgesic effect of the other components.
Indications
Increased body temperature, Neuralgia, Myalgia (muscle pain), Toothache, Painful menstruation (algodysmenorrhea), Headache, Joint pain (arthralgia)Headache; toothache; migraine pain; neuralgia; myalgia; sciatica; posttraumatic and postoperative pain; dysmenorrheal pain.
To reduce elevated body temperature in colds and other infectious and inflammatory diseases.

How to take, the dosage
Ingestion, after meals, with plenty of fluids.
- Adults: usually 1 tablet 3-4 times a day. The maximum single dose for adults is 2 tablets, the daily dose is 6 tablets.
- For adolescents 12-18 years: ½ – 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.
The duration of use is not more than 3 days as a fever and not more than 5 days as a pain reliever.
Interaction
Propiphenazone increases the effect of oral antidiabetic drugs and anticoagulants, reduces the effectiveness of potassium-saving diuretics.
Simultaneous use of the preparation Saridon with barbiturates, anticonvulsants, rifampicin, carbamazepine and alcoholic beverages should be avoided.
Caffeine accelerates absorption of ergotamine.
Metoclopramide accelerates absorption of paracetamol.
Special Instructions
With caution use in the elderly, patients with impaired liver and kidney function.
The excessive use of caffeine-containing products (tea, coffee) during treatment may cause symptoms of overdose.
Contraindications
leukopenia; overexcitability; insomnia; hypersensitivity to the drug components; expressed liver or renal dysfunction; genetic deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase; glaucoma; anemia; CHD, angina pectoris; children under 12 years old.
It is undesirable to use during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Should not be combined with alcoholic beverages.
Side effects
The drug is usually well tolerated in therapeutic doses.
Hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects may occur with prolonged use in high doses.
Sometimes it is possible: Skin allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, dizziness, insomnia.
Rarely: Blood system disorders (thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis).
Overdose
The signs of acute poisoning: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, sweating, pale skin, tachycardia.
Treatment: Gastric lavage, administration of adsorbents (activated charcoal) and medical attention.
Pregnancy use
Can be taken during pregnancy and lactation only if prescribed by a doctor.
Pediatric use
Contraindication: children under 12 years of age.
