Sanorin, spray 0.1% 10 ml

Sanorin is a vasoconstrictor.

It induces alpha2-adrenoceptors.

Pharmacodynamics

It causes narrowing of mucosal vessels and reduces swelling, hyperemia, exudation of the mucous membrane of the airways, facilitates nasal breathing.

In long-term use the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases, therefore after 5-7 days of treatment it is necessary to take a break for a few days.

Indications

Acute rhinitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, eustachianitis, rhinoscopy, hay fever, runny nose, allergic runny nose.

How to take, the dosage

In acute rhinitis, sinusitis, eustachitis, laryngitis, to facilitate rhinoscopy in adults and adolescents over 15 years old – 1 to 3 drops of 0.1% nasal drops in each nasal passage 3-4 times a day.

The course of treatment is short-term until the symptoms of nasal congestion disappear but not more than 1 week in adults and 3 days in children. Repeated use of the drug is possible after a few days.

In case of nasal bleeding it is possible to place a cotton swab moistened with 0.05% Sanorin solution into the nasal passage.

In case of conjunctivitis of bacterial origin the drops of 0.05% nasal drops for 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day into the conjunctival sac are used as additional medicine.

Interaction

Simultaneous use with MAO inhibitors and up to 14 days after the end of their use, increases the risk of severe arterial hypertension (release of deposited catecholamines under the action of naphazoline).

Delays absorption of local anesthetic agents.

Special Instructions

With long-term use the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (tachyphylaxis phenomenon), therefore it is recommended to make a break for a few days after 5-7 days of use in adults and after 3 days of use in children.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, arterial hypertension, increased thyroid gland, tachycardia, marked atherosclerosis, glaucoma, children under 2 years of age (0.1% emulsion, 0.05 and 0.1% solution), under 15 years (0.1% solution).

Side effects

Overdose

Symptoms: hypothermia, bradycardia, hyperhidrosis, somnolence, coma.

Treatment: symptomatic.
