Special instructions

If there is heavy bleeding from the anus or if painful symptoms persist for more than 7 days, you should additionally consult with a proctologist.

Active ingredient

Benzocaine

Composition

For 1 gram – benzocaine 200 mg.

Excipients:

mineral oil – 120 mg (12%);

Vaseline – 647 mg (64.7%);

propylene glycol – 20 mg (2%);

methyl parahydroxybenzoate – 2.4 mg (0.24%);

propyl parahydroxybenzoate – 0.6 mg (0.06%);

sorbitan monostearate – 10 mg (1%).

Pregnancy

The drug should be prescribed with caution in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug – thromboembolic disease granulocytopenia.

Side Effects

Allergic reactions: local reactions (hyperemia, itching).

Interaction

Drug interactions with Relief Advance have not been described.

Overdose

Overdose symptoms may be related to the pharmacological effects of benzocaine. Its systemic absorption in case of overdose can be manifested by drowsiness, anxiety, agitation, and in severe cases – convulsions. Very rarely, large doses of benzocaine can cause methemoglobinemia, which is manifested by respiratory distress and cyanosis. Intravenous methylene blue is a specific treatment for this condition.

If the recommended single and daily doses of shark liver oil are significantly exceeded, there may be a tendency to accelerate blood clotting.
