Protamine sulfate suspension 10 mg/ml, 5 ml 10 pcs.

Heparin antagonist, forms stable complexes with heparin, thus eliminating the ability of heparin to inhibit blood clotting.

Composition

Active substance:

Protamine sulfate (in terms of dry substance) – 10 mg;

Associates:

0.05 M sulfuric acid solution – to pH 4.0-6.0

water for injection – up to 1 ml.

Interaction

Protamine sulfate is an antagonist of low molecular weight heparins.

Concomitant use with protamine sulfate may increase the intensity and duration of action of nondepolarizing myorelaxants.

Directions for use

Inject by IV fluids slowly or dropwise under control of blood clotting.

In case of heparin overdose, the drug is injected by jetting at a rate of 1 ml of 1% solution in 2 minutes. If necessary, the injections are repeated at intervals of 15-30 minutes, the total dose is usually 5 ml of 1% solution.

The maximum dose is 150 mg/h.

In case of bleeding, the daily dose is 5-8 mg/kg; IV drops are administered in 2 doses at 6-hour intervals.

Contraindications

Side effects

Cardiovascular system: bradycardia, arterial hypotension.

Digestive system disorders: nausea, vomiting.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching.

Others: feeling of heat, hyperemia of the skin, feeling of shortness of breath (if injected too quickly).
