Biological properties
Antidiarrheal action of the preparation is conditioned by high concentration of bifidobacteria (Bifidobacterium bifidum № 1) sorbed on activated charcoal particles which are antagonists of a wide range of pathogenic (Shigella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus etc.) and conditionally pathogenic (Bifidobacterium bifidum № 1) bacteria.
The anti-infective action of the preparation is intensified by bifidobacteria sorption on charcoal particles which leads to accelerated normalization of gastro-intestinal microbiocenosis, activation of regenerative processes in mucous membranes and increases of the body resistance to infection.
Antitoxic action of the preparation is achieved by rapid repopulation of the intestines with bifidobacteria microcolony, restoration of normal microflora, which prevents the penetration of toxins into the internal environment of the body and accumulates a significant amount of toxic substances coming from the outside or formed in the body as a natural biosorbent.
Bifidobacteria at high concentrations activate parietal digestion, synthesis of vitamins and amino acids, enhance the protective function of the intestine and the body’s immune defense.

Indications

– diarrhea of ​​various etiologies;
– food toxic infections;
– acute intestinal infections of bacterial and viral nature (salmonellosis, shigellosis, enterocolitis caused by pathogenic representatives of the genus Enterobacteriaceae or staphylococci, rotavirus infection) or of unknown etiology;
– dysbacteriosis of various etiologies, including those that developed during and after taking antibiotics, cytostatic, and radiation therapy; complicating the course of viral hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, intestinal diverticulosis of various localizations;
– newborns (including premature) children with a burdened premorbid background, starting from the period of stay in the maternity hospital, to improve the course of the adaptation period, as well as with severe dysbiosis;
– pregnant women in preparation for childbirth, caesarean section and in the postoperative period.

The drug is used as part of complex therapy
– chronic infectious and nonspecific inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract (gastroduodenitis, pancreatitis, proctosigmoiditis, colitis, including ulcerative colitis);
– patients (including newborns) with secondary immunodeficiency conditions, with severe infectious-inflammatory and purulent-septic diseases (sepsis, peritonitis, etc.); with skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, streptoderma, eczema);
– irritable bowel syndrome, other functional intestinal disorders;
– syndrome of impaired intestinal absorption of various etiologies;
– acute respiratory viral infections and influenza;
– surgical patients (including trauma patients) for preoperative preparation and prevention of postoperative complications; for post-gastroresection disorders and conditions after cholecystectomies;
– cancer patients during chemotherapy, radiation therapy, before and after surgery.

BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The antidiarrheal effect of the drug is due to the high concentration of bifidobacteria (Bifidobacterium bifidum No. 1) sorbed on activated carbon particles, which are antagonists of a wide range of pathogenic (Shigella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.) and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms (Proteus, Klebsiella, etc.).
The anti-infective effect of the drug is enhanced due to the sorption of bifidobacteria on coal particles, which leads to accelerated normalization of the microbiocenosis of the gastrointestinal tract, activation of restoration processes in the mucous membranes and increased anti-infective resistance of the body.
The antitoxic effect of the drug is ensured by the rapid colonization of the intestines by microcolonies of bifidobacteria, the restoration of normal microflora, which prevents the penetration of toxins into the internal environment of the body and, being a natural biosorbent, accumulates significant amounts of toxic substances entering from the outside or formed in the body.
Bifidobacteria in high concentrations activate parietal intestinal digestion, synthesis of vitamins and amino acids, enhance the protective function of the intestine and the body’s immune defense.

Composition

One package contains:
active substance: bifidobacteria sorbed on activated carbon – at least 500 million colony-forming units (5×108 CFU),
excipient: lactose monohydrate – up to 0.85 g.

Pregnancy

The drug is approved for use by women during pregnancy and breastfeeding. There are no special conditions for admission.

Contraindications

Congenital lactase deficiency. Impaired absorption of glucose-galactose.

Interaction

When Probifor® is taken simultaneously with vitamins (especially group B), the effect of the drug is enhanced. When taking antibiotics, the recommended interval between taking the antibiotic and Probifor® is 3-4 hours.

Overdose

There were no cases of overdose.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 10 °C. The lower temperature limit is not limited. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Shelf life

2 years. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
The drug is not suitable for use after the expiration date, if the appearance has changed, if there is no or unclear marking on the primary packaging, or if the seal of the primary packaging is broken.
