Maxilac Baby is a normalizing intestinal microflora.

The intestines are the body’s largest protective system and their microflora fulfills many functions: it protects the intestines from colonization by abnormal bacteria, stimulates immunity, prevents the development of allergies (including atopic dermatitis).It prevents the development of allergies (including atopic dermatitis) and inflammatory processes in the intestines, increases the production of interferons, synthesizes vitamins A, B, K and folic acid, and reduces the intoxication of the body as a whole.

The following factors may disrupt intestinal microflora: caesarean section during delivery, artificial feeding (use of infant formula), taking certain medications and diarrhea (diarrhea).

It has been proven that some groups of drugs have a direct impact on the gastrointestinal flora: antibiotics successfully fight against pathogens, but at the same time they kill the beneficial bacteria. One in three cases of antibiotics causes diarrhea; NSAIDs (including medicines containing paracetamol) may cause damage to the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestine and lead to inflammation, formation of ulcers and erosions; antifungal drugs may have such side effects as loss of appetite, nausea, constipation or diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain.

A bout of diarrhea is accompanied by a partial washout of the child’s gut microflora.

The symptoms of upsetting the intestinal microflora are diarrhea (diarrhea), dyspepsia (upset stomach), constipation, flatulence (bloating), nausea, belching, vomiting, discomfort and pain in the stomach.

One way to build and restore microflora is to eat pro- and prebiotics.

Probiotics are live microorganisms, representatives of the human normoflora, which correct the intestinal microflora (lacto- and bifidobacteria).

Prebiotics are food ingredients, mainly oligosaccharides. When entering the large intestine, they promote the growth and development of normal intestinal microflora.

Synbiotics are ingredients that are a combination of pro- and prebiotics. They have a mutually reinforcing effect on the metabolic processes in the human body.

Maxilac® Baby synbiotic helps restoration and normalization of intestinal microflora in children (from 4 months), especially in cases of medications upsetting the balance of intestinal microflora. Maxilac® Baby is the first and the only synbiotic that contains 9 cultures of beneficial bacteria at a concentration adequate for baby’s intestines – 1 billion (1×109) CFU.

Lactobacillus® Baby contains inhibits the growth of pathogenic microflora, provides protective functions and naturally strengthens the immune system.

Bifidobacteria which are also contained in Maxilac® Baby take part in the synthesis of amino acids, proteins and vitamins and enhance absorption of calcium, iron and vitamin D ions.

Fructo-oligosaccharides (prebiotic in Maxilac® Baby) stimulate the rapid growth of healthy bacteria and inhibit the development of pathogenic ones, reduce toxin contamination and improve intestinal function, stimulate peristalsis, cleanse of toxins, prevent constipation and diarrhea and help normalize gastrointestinal function.

Maxilac® Baby is a synbiotic specially formulated for children and comes in the form of lyophilisate with granules protected by Micro MURE® (Multi Resistant Encapsulation) technology.

This technology protects Maxilac® Baby granules from internal and external environmental factors, thanks to which the majority of probiotic bacteria in Maxilac® Baby enter the intestines instead of being dissolved in the stomach which has a positive effect on the restoration of the GI microflora, since the concentration of microbial colonies increases from the stomach to the large intestine.

Maxilac® Baby does not contain casein or preservatives, so it is safe for children who are allergic to this group of products.

As a means to help maintain normal intestinal microflora in children for the following diseases and conditions:

• functional intestinal disorders (diarrhea (diarrhea), dyspepsia (digestive disorders), constipation, flatulence (bloating), nausea, belching, vomiting);
• Taking drugs that may cause changes in the qualitative or quantitative composition of the gastrointestinal microflora (as an adjunct);
• At the time of seasonal outbreaks of infectious diseases.

How to take, the dosage

Internal, with meals. It is recommended to dissolve the contents of the sachet in warm water or milk.

Children aged 4 months to 2 years – 1 sachet per day; from 2 years and adults – 2 sachets per day.

The duration of use is at least 10 days. If necessary the use of Maxilac® Baby may be prolonged up to 1 month.
